A new set video for Fear Street 4 reveals an 80s-set high school story. Fear Street is a horror anthology film series that began in 2021 with Fear Street parts one, two, and three. Now, Fear Street 4, titled Fear Street: Prom Queen, is in development.

Now, Netflix has released a clip from Fear Street: Prom Queen.

The video starts out with “Welcome Back to Shadyside” as a home video style image shows a look at a group of high school students. The scene then cuts to reveal the setup of a high school two days before prom, where students are getting ready for prom while something sinister lurks. The video clip confirms the casting for Fear Street: Prom Queen. These cast members include India Fowler, Suzanna Son, Fina Strazza, David Iacono, Ella Rubin, Chris Klein, Ariana Greenblatt, Lili Taylor, and Katherine Waterston. The end of the video announced that Fear Street: Prom Queen is now filming.

Will Fear Street: Prom Queen Be the Best of the Series?

The Horror Franchise Has Been Well Received

Like the three previous Fear Street films, Fear Street: Prom Queen adheres to the style of its decade. In the case of the video, this period setting is witnessed through both the look of the main cast’s outfits in the clip as well as the grain of the video itself. Fear Street: Prom Queen will be the first of the Fear Street films to be set in the ‘80s. Parts One, Two, and Three were set in 1994, 1978, and 1966, respectively.

The Fear Street films have received fairly positive reviews. Fear Street Part One: 1994 received an 84% approval among Rotten Tomatoes critics, while parts two and three received 87% and 88% approvals. This track record for the series gives Fear Street 4 big shoes to fill, as the initial films have set a high precedent.

Three years out from the release of the original Fear Street, Fear Street: Prom Queen has had ample time to focus on crafting a quality fourth installment. It also has multiple notable leading cast members, including Red Rocket star Son and breakout Barbie and Ahsoka star Ariana Greenblatt. With a long marination time for the story, a strong cast of characters, and a period setting ripe for playing with tropes, Fear Street: Prom Queen may be situated to be another great installment of the horror franchise.
