83% 29 Reviews Tomatometer 87% 250+ Ratings Audience Score Charlie Swift (Pierce Brosnan), aka "Fast Charlie," is a fixer with a problem: the target he's whacked is missing his head. And he must prove it's the intended target to the man who paid for the hit -- New Orleans' most prominent and most ruthless mobster, Beggar Mercado (Gbenga Akinnagbe). Charlie enlists Marcie Kramer (Morena Baccarin), the victim's ex-wife and a woman with the backbone and skillset Charlie needs. Dragging Marcie back into a past she was determined to escape sends the two of them on a wild and unpredictable odyssey that's unexpectedly amusing, action propelled, and ultimately heartfelt. Along the way, Charlie and Marcie fight to protect the legacy of Charlie's best friend and mentor, Stan Mullen (James Caan in his final performance), while bringing down Beggar and his entire operation. Critics Consensus

Thanks largely to Pierce Brosnan's charming work in the title role, Fast Charlie is a slickly watchable thriller that engages despite its standard story.

John Nugent Empire Magazine A bit of an odd one, an action-comedy throwback that doesn’t quite know what it wants to be. Still, it bodes well for Pierce Brosnan’s new phase as a grey-haired action star. Rated: 2/5 Mar 18, 2024 Full Review Richard Roeper Chicago Sun-Times Pierce Brosnan has a wry sense of humor in this slick and violent piece of pulp entertainment. Rated: 3/4 Dec 16, 2023 Full Review Randy Myers San Jose Mercury News Phillip Noyce’s well-seasoned, blood-splattered throwback, a smooth ride that doesn’t wear out its welcome at a brisk 90 minutes. Rated: 3/4 Dec 13, 2023 Full Review Jeffrey M. Anderson Common Sense Media This crime tale uses many familiar elements, but, under the guidance of director Phillip Noyce, it feels crisp, fleet-footed, and spirited, adding up to a solid, entertaining B-movie. Rated: 4/5 Jan 12, 2024 Full Review Bill Arceneaux Moviegoing with Bill 'Fast Charlie' is made up entirely of shrugs and sighs, and is a pathetic genre attempt set in the humid Deep South. Rated: 1.5/5 Jan 9, 2024 Full Review Filipe Freitas Always Good Movies ... there’s this sly humor that venomously assesses the lack of morality in the Southern mob lands. David M Very enjoyable and fun to watch. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/15/23 Full Review Todd M Pierce Brosnan is still Fierce. One of his best performances yet, after a few minutes I stopped seeing the Brosnan I've known for three decades and completely saw Charlie Swift. That's no mean feat for a Bond actor. Supported brilliantly by Baccarin and James Caan. Brilliant score too. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/01/24 Full Review Damita J Seen this movie multiple times and it feels stronger with every view. Think it's the slow slow burn of the love affair that makes it all work. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/01/24 Full Review Sandy L I absolutely loved this movie. Watched it a week and a half ago and then over the Easter break, watched it a couple more times. I would never have thought to put this set of actors together but the outcome is greater than the sum of its parts. Really wonderful. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/24 Full Review N T How this film has such good reviews baffles me! Tired plot with no twists and little thrills. Don't waste your time with this turkey. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/30/24 Full Review Sylvie H I thought the start with its outrageous dark comedy was just about perfect. Sort of let down when it got serious later on, but the slow burn of the love affair pulled me in. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/25/24 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
