MrDonut If you are someone who likes old-school Disney then this is definitely worth watching because even though there isn't any dialogue it's still a very well-made film with animation that still holds up to date.. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/02/24 Full Review Josh A My 11 year old son said it was dog trash. Horrible movie. The worst Disney movie ever. I couldn't agree more. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/10/24 Full Review Georgan G An amazing combination of beautiful music and colorful animation. The first of its kind leading to present day music videos. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/19/24 Full Review Christy T One of the greatest movies Disney ever created. It's timeless, and just as magical to watch in 2023, as it was in the 1940's. Not just for adults either, my 3yr old granddaughter was transfixed and watched the whole movie without having her attention removed on the screen. Truly a work of art. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/31/23 Full Review Alec B It can be hard to remember that at one time Walt Disney's aims for animation were equal parts commercial and artistic success. "Fantasia" (for awhile at least) failed at the first but it mostly succeeds at the second. The expository scenes between each animation piece are utterly pointless but they're easy to ignore. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/13/23 Full Review Teddy B Disney's finest and most utterly grandiose composition of light, colours, and sound. A breathtaking and outstanding achievement where animation that could be counted among the finest pieces of art in a museum meets some of the most dignified pieces of music ever written without ever pandering to the audience. Guardian Staff Guardian Disney's abstractions are no more imaginative than Fischinger's or Len Lye's, though he can be wittier than they. Jul 17, 2020 Full Review SMH Staff Sydney Morning Herald The film will be as controversial as is all new art conception. But its entertainment value is Immense and unquestionable. May 2, 2020 Full Review Edwin Schallert Los Angeles Times The words most used to describe "Fantasia," besides the conventional "beautiful" and "wonderful" were "path-breaking" and "courageous." The phrase "courageous beyond belief" would be even more accurate. Jan 18, 2013 Full Review Pare Lorentz McCall's [Disney] has developed an entirely new method of recording and projecting music, immeasurably broadening the potential use of music and pictures; above all, Fantasia itself is an audacious, stirring, austere and entirely new kind of movie. Oct 30, 2023 Full Review Carson Timar ButteredPopcorn Fantasia ends up as a film easier to respect than truly enjoy. While the individual elements are rather fantastic, the final feature as a whole is simply ineffective when it comes to showcasing the talents involved. Jan 2, 2023 Full Review Dilys Powell Sunday Times (UK) Fantasia, in short, is Disney sometimes at his worst, often at his very best; and the best is on a level which no other cinematographic designer has reached.
