Would this be a good place to bring a 14 month old?

Hi Lydia! We often have guests under two visit our park. We have animals and plants that little ones find exciting and stimulating. Plus, guests under two pay no admission. We hope to see you!

A fun quick trip talking about Mother Goose & nursery rhymes. The structures were fun for my 6 year old, but just to note this place is really for 6 or 7 & younger. It's roomy & a safe place for kids to run around & explore & play. My daughter's favorite place was the reading/play theatre room! Cool place to hang out for a few hours mà with the littles!

We came here with 2 young kids thinking we'd just stay for a little bit, then head out to lunch.
We ended up staying for 3 hours - and our kids wanted to stay longer.
The concept is fairly simple: a fairy tale themed park with several play areas to roam around, live animals, and some live shows. It's not particularly large, but for a 4-year-old and a 2-year-old, it can seem huge - and provide infinite possibilities of what to play.
The play areas with slides were a big hit.
The live rabbits and goats (and even giant tortoise) were fun to watch.
But the most fun attraction for our 4-year-old was the crooked mile.
Just like the park itself, it's fairly simple in concept: it's an elevated, winding, narrow walkway. But our kids loved walking it so much they went 3 times, and wanted more.
In short, the next time we're in Sacramento area, we'll be sure to carve out plenty of time for a trip to Fairytale Town. Not a quick hour and then lunch - like we thought going into today.
No - as long as we have young kids under the age of 8, this park will provide hours and hours of fun. And as parents, anything that can actively engage toddlers for that long is time well spent.Helpful 3Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 1 - Apr 1, 2024Updated review
My kids had a blast at the spring egg-stravaganza event. They picked Easter eggs, played on the slides, built blocks, and played with bubbles.
They were able to pick either 2 small prizes or a large prize in exchange for the egg hunting. My kids selected finger lights and small legos. There could have been better prizes for the cost of admission.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Oct 17, 2023Previous reviewMy kids had a blast at the Halloween event. They were able to trick or treat and collect candies safely. In addition, they were ecstatic to play in Fairytale Town. We will definitely attend this event annually if this is a possibility.

Reasonably priced fun for young kids. I'd say age 3-7 years old is the perfect age for this place. We went with a 3, 4, and 6 year old and they loved it. We stayed for almost 4.5 hours!
Most of the playing areas are outdoors, but there is an indoor reading rainbow house that has books, coloring, and dry erase boards. Surprisingly, our group spent more than an hour just in that reading house.
Multiple areas with water fountains, restrooms, and there's also a concession stand if you need to buy food or snacks.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 21, 2024Updated review
Fairytale town is still one of the best places to visit with a toddler in Sacramento. We used to come often with our son who is now 8 and now enjoy bringing little sister who is 2. I love seeing the new additions and renovations to existing features. The variety of activies bring fairyales to life, spark wonder and encourage creative play. Aside from playing on all the features, the kids enjoy seeing the live animals and "playing with water" in Mr. McGregor's garden. We also spent a short time in the little reading house and finally got to see the inside of King Arthur's castle. Don't forget to bring a few coins for food to feed the koi and to drop in the funnel coin drop at the end. I appreciate the fair pricing and clean, family friendly environment.

I found the reservation process quick and easy. I was able to book a reservation for the next hour, pay online and enjoy the park. There are hand sanitizer stations every few feet, set between each attraction. I found that they were all full and easily available. While I know it is hard to continuously clean the slides, climbing structures and other attractions I wish there were more staff available to sanitize more frequently. I cringed as I watched off kid after kid climb Cinderella's horse and carriage and made sure to wipe my son's hands after he was done playing. Overall, I think as long as you do your part to prevent the spread and also protect yourself by wearing a mask, staying 6ft from others, and hand washing and sanitizing Fairytale Town can be fun and safe to visit. After not visiting for a year, our son enjoyed Fairytale Town as if he'd never been there before. He ran the crooked mile 3 times, came down the red hens slide 3 times and climbed every structure in the park. Needless to say he slept through that night and can't wait to go back.

A totally fun place for a toddler! The fairytale themed was simple and easily relatable to the Mother Goose nursery rhymes that were familiar to our little one. The park although not big was adequate, clean, and open with lots of activities to keep children occupied and entertained for hours. Lots of structures to climb and play with and some live animals to see. Highlights of our visit... the crooked mile, bean stalk slide, and the train! Our little one had a blast! Will definitely be back again!

Had such a fun time. $9 a person to get in, lots of children, plenty of space and fun. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was nice to get out of the house and have my daughter play. Will definitely be back

Unique and possibly unusual child play area in Land Park. The fairytale theme is cute - at times a bit subtle. The space is mostly well maintained, with nice paths and planting. There's tons of shade, too.
There are lots of slides, some of which I think could use some better designations for age or height. Most activities are pretty tame, though.
Our favorite parts were the playground and the garden, where we could help water plants.
Food for sale was pretty reasonably priced. They could easily charge more.Helpful 7Thanks 1Love this 8Oh no 0 - 51233182Mar 17, 2023
Cute outdoor place for younger kids! We took our then 16-month old daughter here last year on Easter for their annual Eggstravaganza event, and it was lots of fun. They had three different easter egg hunts for different age groups (i.e. infant, 1-3 year olds, 4+ year olds). I liked that, so that toddlers could move at their own pace without being overwhelmed by the older kids and vice versa.
I was pleasantly surprised to see a variety of areas to check out, such as the pond with koi fish, multiple slides and playground areas, a ship and train to play on, a castle to explore, and farm animals to see. Admission is reasonable, but I could see it getting expensive if you bring a big family. Please note that all adults going to Fairytale Town have to be with a child. There's no limit on the number of adults entering, but adults can't just enter by themselves with no children in their party.
My only complaint is that I wish there were more food options inside. It's pretty limited and just basic park food, and over-priced as most parks are haha so plan to eat a good meal either before or right after coming here. I believe we spent two hours here.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - May 7, 2023
I grew up in Sacramento and spent plenty of time here as a kid. Much of it had changed since the 80s BUT they still have
- the hippo drinking fountains
- the castle you can reserve for your birthday (wasn't that THE DREAM?!??)
- the Cinderella coach and horses to ride on
- the crooked mile
- the low humpty dumpty head-banger bridge on the way in
New additions include more playgrounds (eg Sherwood Forest), a pirate ship, and a preschool-ish play area (inside a windmill). Also my mom thinks we used to go for free and now it's $8 for anyone older than 1 ($7 on weekdays). (Yes, you can buy tickets there now "post covid" and don't have to get them online ahead of time.) My 2 and 5 yo loved it so worth the price of admission at least this once.
Parking in their lot was easy on a Sunday before 10 but filled up quick. Bring snacks to enjoy in one of the many picnic areas.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0
