The next season is expected to delve deeper into the intertwined worlds of crime, politics, and the fight for civil rights in Harlem, which has yet to come to a satisfying conclusion. While there's an absence of confirmed specific plot details for Godfather of Harlem season 4, the Variety report included a broad narrative that sees Bumpy Johnson amid the violent war for control of Harlem, fighting against the New York mafia families. However, most interestingly, the season will introduce a new rival of Bumpy's, the real-life drug lord Frank Lucas.

There have been a number of movies and shows that have depicted the sadistic and brutal Frank Lucas, most notably Denzel Washington's portrayal in Ridley Scott's American Gangster. Lucas had a reputation for brutality, fearlessness, and creative ways of smuggling drugs into the U.S., such as using U.S. soldier caskets, so it'll be interesting to see how Godfather of Harlem season 4 will portray the gangster. Additionally, the report notes how there'll be more of a focus on Bumpy's daughter, Elise, as she becomes more involved with the Black Panthers.
