Before I begin - a personal thanks to reviewer Daniel Maltzman - if it weren't for him I wouldn't've even heard of this album! Your reviews are dead-on! Keep up the good work! =)
Now back to my review. I usually don't like metal, but Vince Neil's "Carved In Stone" is actually not that bad. It's more hard rock than it is heavy metal, so I suppose that's why it seems more accessible. Vince Neil is a really good singer - he's very likable and has a good voice for this style of music. "The Crawl" is a good tune to start off the album with - the siren effect, though sampled a lot in many albums, still comes off as pretty cool. Musically it's pretty much like any other metal album you've ever heard except much more accessible and fun (every song is good). I'd say the worst song on the album has to be the last song - "The Rift". The guitars are hard enough to sound tough, but friendly enough not to scare people away (like, say, a lot of death metal probably would). The production is also really well done, although the album could definitely use a remastering. Lyrically I'm not entirely sure what's going on here, but since I have to WORK to hear the words I suppose that's not the point of the album anyway (it's to have an energetically good time!). Metal fans should like this album, and I think non-metal fans might actually be intrigued by it too. Recommended!

Wanted this to be a lost gem after I skipped getting it back in the day… it’s ok but not anything great. First track starts off fantastic but then you get a guitar solo that goes on about 4 times longer than it should, Steve Stevens plays great and is a great player but it kills the song… some good stuff on this cd but just not essential unless you are a completist… just doesn’t have that X factor to it.

Ok, I'll admit it, I'm a huge Crue fan, and have been since the early 80's. That being said, I was still highly cautions about Vince's solo career, and purchacing this release from him...
So many great singers in the past, who eventually decide to go solo, seem to get lost in all of the hype, and in return losing focus on the final product. NOT WITH VINCE. NOT WITH "EXPOSED".
This is simply incredible, and as much as it pains me to say it, Vince may be better off without the Crue boyz. If can keep this up, and continue to put out releases like this one, he'll have no need to rejoin Motley Crue at all. "Exposed" rocks harder than anything Crue has done since the late 80's in my opinion. Trust me, It's that good....
Guitarist Steve Stevens shreads to no end here. He's got a bluesy, yet very hard edged sound, and he adds tons to the overall power of "Exposed". He and Vince are an excellent combo.
If you're a Motley Crue fan, and gave up on them after the 80's like I did, you need to hear what Vince has been up to since then. "Exposed" completely cranks. You can't put a price on this masterpiece, it's a wonderful "rare" find, and I only wish I had heard it ten years ago!!!
AWESOME!!!....

Bad ass album and this CD sounds great! Takes me back to high school days as summer of 1993 was about to start for me.

This CD is insane! Steve Stevens does a great job on guitar with squeals and ray gun sounds everywhere. Could easily listen to the whole album over and over

Album de Steve Stevens avant tout....
Reviewed in France on November 3, 2015
