Jennifer Love Hewitt lit up the screen in Can't Hardly Wait (1998) as the cool cheerleader and crushable prom queen Amanda Beckett. Before scoring the role, Hewitt already had a great deal of teen-star clout from her four-year stint on Fox's coming-of-age drama Party of Five. Since the '90s, the actress has remained a multi-faceted industry mainstay.

She followed the 1998 cult classic with other hits like Heartbreakers (2001), costarring Sigourney Weaver; Garfield: The Movie (2004) and a cameo in Tropic Thunder (2008). Hewitt also landed the lead roles on CBS' The Ghost Whisperer and Lifetime's The Client List, as well as appeared in a season-long arc on Criminal Minds. Since 2018, she has played Maddie Buckley, a strong-willed but sensitive 9-1-1 dispatcher on Fox's 9-1-1.

The pop culture icon has had her fair share of success with music and writing. In the years after Can't Hardly Wait, she released the well-received single "How Do I Deal" on the I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (1998) soundtrack, with the song reached No. 59 on the Billboard Hot 100. Despite her popularity, she hasn't been particularly active in music since 2004. She penned her first book, The Day I Shot Cupid, in 2010 and joined The New York Times best seller list thanks to her playfully raunchy takes on love and dating.

Hewitt had a slew of highly-publicized relationships throughout the '90s with celebrities including Carson Daly, Patrick Wilson, John Mayer and Jamie Kennedy.

She has been married to her former Client List costar, Brian Hallisay, since November 2013, and the couple share a daughter, Autumn, and two sons — Atticus and Aidan.
