Everton: Bayern Munich eye Amadou Onana summer transfer as Goodison Park price tag set

Bayern Munich have joined the race to sign Everton midfielder Amadou Onana, according to The Telegraph.

The British news outlet reported via its website on Thursday (28 March) that the Belgium international will cost more than £60million to sign.

Onana has already been linked with numerous other clubs, Barcelona and Arsenal among them, after impressing in his two years at Goodison Park.

The report, written by Mike McGrath, adds that Bayern are looking at Onana as an alternative to Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha.

Transfer interest in Amadou Onana is nothing new from Everton’s perspective. The question now is whether there is simply too much interest?

With Barcelona and Bayern Munich supposedly interested, it will be an almighty task persuading the 22-year-old to stay put at Goodison Park.

At the same time, Onana still has three years to run on his existing contract, so Everton have every right to hold firm.

If an official bid is indeed lodged in excess of £60m, that would certainly give the club a decision to make.

Every supporter would prefer Onana to stay and Everton to strengthen the starting line-up around him, but that may not be realistic.

For now, though, this is still just speculation. Until the summer window opens and some sort of offer is made, Onana is firmly an Everton player.
