Box Score PEORIA, Ill. -- The Bradley Braves Baseball team lost to Belmont University, 8-6.
Things began early, as Senior
Ryan Vogel hit a leadoff home run. The Bruins answered, scoring one run in each of the first three innings, entering the top of the fourth up 3-1.
The Braves offense ignited in the top of the fourth inning. Vogel hit a sacrifice fly to bring one home. Then, Senior
Logan Delgado hit a two-RBI double, giving the Braves a one-run lead. Junior
Michael Mylott singled, allowing Delgado to score on an error by the Bruins shortstop. Bradley led 5-3 until the bottom of the fifth inning. Belmont hit a solo home run, cutting the Braves lead to one.
Bradley earned that run back in the top of the sixth, as Vogel hit an RBI single. Despite leading 6-4, the Bruins scored half their runs in the bottom of the seventh, earning four runs to take the lead. No runs were scored by either side in the last two innings.
Vogel went 2-3 with three RBI. Mylott went 3-5 with a double. Vogel and Mylott were the only two Braves with multiple hits. The Braves had seven walks, with Senior
Jackson Chatterton earning three and Junior
Tyrese Johnson recording two.
