Everyone at Eton works hard to create an exciting, stimulating and caring environment, to enable each boy to reach his full potential. All our boys are also expected to make their own contribution to school life.
To achieve this we have developed an admissions process which looks at a boy’s current and potential academic ability as well as whether he will be happy in our boarding environment. Every year we typically welcome boys from about 120 different state and independent schools.
The best thing about Eton is that it allows you to become who you want to be. It brings out what your passions are and it gives you the chance to try anything that you think you will be good at.Hamza, Orwell Award recipient
A boy may be registered up until 30 June of the school year he turns 10 (UK school Year 5). After this the only route of entry will be through scholarships or Sixth Form entry, which open in Year 8 (for Year 9 entry) and Year 11 (for Sixth Form entry).
Eton is committed to supporting boys with disabilities and also has a Learning Support Centre for boys with special educational needs and disabilities.
Foremost among the many factors which contribute to pupils’ excellent progress and very high standards is the high quality of the teaching they receive.ISI inspection, December 2021
There are around 1,350 boys at the school. In academic year 2021/22, 20% of boys received financial support towards their fees (averaging a 71% award), with 100 boys paying no fees at all. For academic year 2022/23, £9.4 million has been budgeted for Financial Aid, with 107 boys paying no fees at all. Regrettably, it is still not possible to support all of the applications.
Good luck with your application.
