I feel so fortunate to be a part of this warm, committed community of families and educators. The school prioritizes a rich and rigorous education but does so in an environment that is noncompetitive and that respects each student's individuality. Kids are encouraged to discover their own passions and interests rather than fitting into a cookie-cutter mold, and the priority is to foster a love of learning and a deep sense of ethical values in each student. We love ECFS!

Review Ethical Culture Fieldston School

I'm a current parent and have been part of the school community for four years having come in from another school. My son is a current 8th grader and he has made great friends and is enjoying his experience finishing up Middle School. The teachers are solid, approachable and caring. I feel the students are for the most part receiving the support they need and feel confident they will be prepared for further education beyond high school. The school has supported my son and others students through the challenging social climates and their approach to a gradual introduction to more challenging academics is a good approach.
I enjoy the parent community and have gotten involved in fund raising, making some new friends along the way.

I am the parent of two children - a daughter in fourth grade and a son in second grade - and an alum of the school. Having enjoyed my time as a student, I have fallen back in love with the school as a parent. My children have had amazing teachers and wonderful learning experiences. The school offers a comprehensive educational offering that encourages kids to develop their own passions and interests and treats each child as an individual with agency. The school offers extensive specials to help develop well-rounded children. At Ethical, the teachers make great use of NYC with lots of field trips and using Central Park as both a classroom and a place to play and explore. Overall, our experience has been fantastic.
