Depending on Leeds United securing promotion this summer, the club will have a lot of decisions on their hands when it comes to the players.
Things were looking a little dicey for Leeds United after relegation from the Premier League last season, with many players looking to leave.
Since then, Daniel Farke has come in and turned the team into title contenders, with The Whites currently two points off the top of the table with three games to go.
Here, we look at the contract situation for each player currently at Leeds United.
Illan Meslier – June 2026

The 24-year-old French keeper has been number one at the club the past few years, and despite foreign interest has remained a Elland Road. Meslier’s current deal runs out in June 2026, and Leeds United will be keen to extend his stay at the club.
Kristoffer Klaesson – June 2025

Signed as a young player to develop with Leeds youth sides, Klaesson has barely gotten a chance to start. He had one game against Birmingham this season where he managed to keep a clean sheet.
Karl Darlow – June 2026

Signed to provide competition for Meslier, the experienced Welsh goalkeeper has found himself as the backup to the Frenchman.
Pascal Struijk – June 2027

Struijk’s season was cut short in December after an unfortunate groin injury. Before that, he was having a stellar season in the championship and with his displays at the heart of defence.
The Dutchman has been earmarked as a long-term starter and future club captain, he’s not going anywhere anytime soon.
Joe Rodon – May 2024

The Spurs loanee has won over the fans at Elland Road and has been one of the best defenders in the league this year. Unless Leeds sign him this summer, he will depart from the club.
Charlie Cresswell – June 2027

Cresswell is in a very difficult situation at the club, his future depends on a lot of factors. However he has only featured in 5 league games this season, there’s a high chance he leaves Elland Road this summer.
Liam Cooper – June 2024

One of the club’s longest-serving players and current club captain, Cooper looks set to leave the club in the summer, ending his fantastic Leeds United career.

He divides opinion, but the fullback has enjoyed a relatively good campaign this year, playing a handful of games after previous injury-ridden seasons.

Academy graduate Byram has been one of the surprise packages of the season. The right-back proved himself during pre-season and earned a one-year deal. Has proven very useful this season, could easily see him staying past this summer.

The Burnley loanee has rarely featured since joining the club in January. It’s unlikely the club will be looking to keep him once his loan ends.
Jamie Shackleton – June 2024

Another academy graduate, Shackleton has seen very little game time since January. The versatile midfielder/full-back looks set to leave at the end of the season.
Ethan Ampadu – June 2027

Ampadu has arguably been one of the players of the season since his move from rivals Chelsea in the summer. With a great first season under his belt, he’s another who could take over as captain next season.
Ilia Gruev – June 2027

The summer signing hasn’t fully found his feet in England yet but has shown glimpses of what he can do. Promotion or not, he’ll be a useful asset.
Archie Gray – June 2028

Gray is having a breakout year at club level and with the England national teams, winning the Young Player of the year award. Leeds will hope to tie him down for even longer than his current deal, with the aim of building the team around their young wonderkid.
Glen Kamara – June 2027

After his £5.5 million move from Rangers last summer, Kamara has proven to be a smart signing. The Finnish international has been one of Leeds United’s most consistent players throughout the campaign.
Darko Gyabi – June 2026

His loan move to Plymouth Argyle has proven that the young midfielder could become a valuable squad option heading into next season.

The Dutch winger has not only been Leeds United’s player of the season, he was voted Championship Player of the Year.
With 17 goals and eight assists so far this season, Summerville has proved to the world exactly what he’s capable of. It’s up to Leeds to secure promotion and do everything they can to keep their star man.
Daniel James – June 2026

Not far behind Summerville in terms of goals scored with an impressive 13 so far this season, Daniel James went from being unwanted and out on loan to one of the driving forces behind the promotion push.
The rapid Welsh winger is another player Leeds might have to convince to stay at the club this summer. Promotion back to the Premier League would go a long way to help.
Jaidon Anthony – May 2024

Anthony has shown flashes of his ability since joining the club on loan from Bournemouth, but it’s unlikely he will remain at the club past this summer.

After reportedly wanting to leave the club after relegation from the Premier League, the young Italain winger has since put his head down and gotten on with it. He’s another player that Leeds will not be keen on letting go anytime soon.
Georginio Rutter – June 2028

After a disappointing start to life at Leeds United, Rutter has almost proven to be worth the club record fee.
Primarily playing in the number 10 position, he’s become the team’s main creator and forged himself an important spot in Leeds’ push for promotion. The vultures might start circling if United don’t get promoted.

It’s been a stop/start kind of season for the big Dutch forward. He was scoring at a decent rate at the start of the season, but the goals have since dried up. Still, he has the ability to make a huge impact on the last few games of the season.
