After the success of its Infinity Saga, the Marvel Cinematic Universe wasted no time jumping into its next great epic, the Multiverse Saga. This new story kicked off with Phase Four's WandaVision and will culminate in two major team-up movies in Phase Six, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars. As part of the buildup, the MCU has introduced several new heroes and villains, expanded on certain characters through its Disney+ shows, and left plenty of plot threads dangling for future projects.

The MCU has always been an ambitious endeavor, and it's not done expanding. Each installment brings more development and sets up more mysteries for the next chapter to solve. It's a lot to keep track of, and with so much time between character appearances, many of the questions audiences have been asking since the start of the new saga still haven't been answered. From the origin of Shang-Chi's rings to Monica Rambeau's whereabouts, here are ten such mysteries from the Multiverse Saga in roughly chronological order.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

8 movies, 10 seasons of TV, 2 specials

In Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings' mid-credits scene, Wong consulted with Carol Danvers and Bruce Banner about the origin of rings. Wong also revealed that the rings were sending out a signal, but to whom is anyone's guess. While Wong, Carol and Bruce have all appeared in other MCU movies and series since then, Shang-Chi has yet to return with any insights.

Fans have a few theories about who or what the rings could be calling out to. Although the film only says Shang-Chi's father, Xu Wenwu, found them in a tomb or a crater, many viewers believe the rings might have a multiversal origin. Kang the Conqueror's lair in the Quantum Realm had moving rings with a similar design, leading fans to think he might be their creator. It could explain why the heroes couldn't pin down where or when they came from. Conversely, the rings' large size has prompted some fans to theorize they could be linked to the alien Makluans.

Eternals

7 movies, 10 seasons of TV, 2 specials

Eternals ended with Arishem abducting Sersi, Phastos and Kingo so he could review their memories and pass judgment on Earth. Makkari, Druig and Thena were preparing to go find their friends, but they were interrupted by Pip and Eros, another Eternal who claimed he knew where the others were and was there to help. Even though they could use the assistance, it all seemed rather convenient.

Despite Eternals' lukewarm reception, its new lore and cliffhanger ending sparked plenty of speculation among viewers, especially about Thanos' surprise brother. As tempting as it might be to accept his help, the heroes have several reasons not to. The Eternals may not have stopped Thanos, but it's unclear where Eros stands on his brother's misdeeds. He could also easily be a spy for Arishem sent there to collect the remaining rebellious Eternals. Unfortunately, fans don't even know if they'll get a sequel to answer this urgent question.

Spider-Man: No Way Home

6 movies, 9 seasons of TV, 2 specials

Although Eddie Brock and Venom missed out on the main events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, they had a fun cameo in the film's mid-credits scene. After getting caught up on the events of the MCU, they decided to go meet Spider-Man but were abruptly sent back to their own universe. That seemed like the end of things, but a piece of the symbiote somehow got left behind.

Audiences have been wondering what Peter Parker has been up to since he made the entire world forget who he was to prevent the multiverse from collapsing, and the leftover symbiote might be a hint at what's to come. However, it was left in Mexico while Peter was still in New York, but it could still factor into Spider-Man's next story. Knowing what audiences now know about incursions, this could also have some serious ramifications for the multiverse, but fans won't know for sure until Spider-Man returns.
