Benjamin H In spite of the fact that the film is limited and could have benefitted from more interesting characters, Eraserhead overall is a stylish and pleasantly complex film that uses its creepy surrealism as a defining way for its storytelling. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/03/24 Full Review Yorle M Makes you want to gauge your eyes out. No substance. 90-some minutes I will NEVER GET BACK. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/09/24 Full Review sj w I've only watched it once and plan to watch it again. Undoubtedly, the film is very unique, in a way that is both pleasant to look at while being disgusting at the same time. The surreal sequences in the beginning and the ending are what make this a great movie. The possible interpretations are almost endless and leaves you wanting to watch it again. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 11/28/23 Full Review Patrick C There's really nothing like it. I was so tense watching this, I must have been grinding my teeth. I was not expecting to be so scared watching something from the 70s. The atmosphere is absolutely suffocating. The pitiful "baby" is awful to look at and worse to listen to. Despite the absurd nature of this movie it has a very realistic if abstract horror about it. Being stuck taking care of a helpless deformed child with a woman who hates you and that sound... Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 11/07/23 Full Review James F I was so upset I discovered Eraserhead later in my lifetime but I'm grateful I discovered it at all! You can definitely see that modern day surrealist films draw inspiration from David Lynch's artwork! Eraserhead is a bonafide classic! No other surrealist film comes to likes of it in my opinion. And if your into a surreal, unpredictable, and unlikely packed adventures this film is for you! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/19/23 Full Review Alejandro E This modern and surreal fable about unwanted fatherhood makes you, as a viewer, burn your eyelashes to find out what David Lynch wanted to tell us. Whatever it may be, in his debut, Mr. Lynch left a shining signal that he defines as cinema. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 09/29/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Peter Bradshaw Guardian It's beautiful and strange, with its profoundly disturbing ambient sound design of industrial groaning, as if filmed inside some collapsing factory or gigantic dying organism. Rated: 5/5 Oct 14, 2014 Full Review Michael Wilmington Chicago Tribune What makes Eraserhead great -- and still, perhaps the best of all Lynch's films? Intensity. Nightmare clarity. And perhaps also it's the single-mindedness of its vision. Rated: 4/4 Oct 14, 2014 Full Review Tom Buckley New York Times A murkily pretentious shocker. Oct 14, 2014 Full Review Sean Burns Crooked Marquee Basically, if you’ve ever had a panic attack worrying that you might have knocked up your girlfriend, this is the movie playing in your head. Aug 4, 2023 Full Review Richard Schertzer ScreenAnarchy All I know is that this film zig-zags through its story's trajectory and fails to make me look at it thinking that I have seen something that makes a modicum of sense. Jun 16, 2023 Full Review Joe Lipsett Anatomy of a Scream Podcast Network Confronting and nightmarish in equal parts, David Lynch's infamous first feature is a surreal masterpiece. The imagery might be iconic, but its the omnipresent industrial score that sticks with you. Apr 11, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews
