Today’s Fortnite update brought a lot of new content. Considering it’s the third major update of Chapter 5 Season 2, this comes as no surprise. Epic Games has changed a couple of things in each mode, which is why we’ve prepared Fortnite patch notes for you.

What did today’s Fortnite update bring?

The Fortnite update today brought numerous things, including a new season for the Fortnite Festival mode. Since the update was just released, we don’t have all the details about it, which is why we will keep updating these Fortnite patch notes every few minutes. Fortnite Battle Royale and general patch notes

  • Added an option to disable “confrontational emotes” like Take the L and Laugh It Up
    • The new setting can be found under “Social Privacy”
  • Added a new Tactical Assault Rifle
    • Comes in five rarities, from Common to Legendary
    • Can be found in most loot sources
    • Deals 19-23 damage to body, 28-34 to head
    • Shoots seven bullets per second
    • Has a 30-bullet magazine
  • Unvaulted the classic Hand Cannon in Epic rarity
  • New Level Up Quest Pack: Shattered Harpe
  • New skins
  • Added a Fortnite Crew pack for May 2024
  • Apollo and Graveheart added as new NPCs
  • Added some files for the upcoming Star Wars collaboration
  • Fixed the censorship on the Rebellious emote
  • Fixed the Harpy Haze quest pack

LEGO Fortnite patch notes

  • Farm Friends increases the Village recruitment cap to ten per Village
  • Cows, sheep, chickens, and now pigs can be recruited and are available in different colour or pattern variants
    • Chickens produce Feathers and Fertilizer over time
    • Cows produce Milk and Fertilizer
    • Sheep produce Wool and Fertilizer
    • Pigs produce Mushrooms and Fertilizer
  • Gain resources from feathers and milk to wool and mushrooms by caring for your animals
  • Five new Villager characters can lend a helping hand but remember to beware the bear
  • Improvements include a revamp of the Village Square UI, other bug fixes and more LEGO Styles for your favourite Outfits
  • Many new LEGO styles for skins
  • New LEGO Fortnite kits

Fortnite Festival changes

  • Fortnite Festival Season 3 officially started!
  • Billie Eilish was released as a Season 3 artist and has a skin in the event pass
  • The event pass also features a couple of other cosmetic items and jam tracks
  • Added support for Rock Band 4 guitar controllers
  • The Music Library now shows an expanded set of stats, showing your selected Instrument type’s best performance in each Jam Track row
  • The Music Library is now also ordered with new and featured Jam Tracks at the top by default (this can be re-sorted), allowing players with large libraries to easily access Quest-relevant Jam Tracks
  • New Wristband Quests and rewards have been added
  • Season 2 leaderboard scores have been recorded and archived
  • The leaderboards await your new top performances with Season 3!
  • No more sprinting to make your setlist! There are more stats on the Results screen after each performance. You can now see the percentage of notes hit and missed and the average from your other performances to see how you’ve improved.
  • We’ve reordered the song parts selection menu to Vocals > Bass > Lead > Drums.

Rocket Racing updates

  • Added “Party Play” quests that grant free rewards for playing with friends
    • These quests are currently encrypted and will likely come out soon

So far, these patch notes come from Fortnite data miners, as the update came out around 4 AM Eastern Time. However, Epic Games may soon release more information, including weapon balance changes, gameplay tweaks, and more. If necessary, we will update our patch notes throughout the day.
