The Nigerian actor and creative entrepreneur as he considers himself is no stranger in the entertainment world. He has appeared in many blockbuster films and has even added the title of producer and director to his name. However, who is Enyinna Nwigwe when the camera layers are down? 1. Enyinna Nwigwe hails from Imo State

Enyinna Nwigwe was born on September 18, 1982, in Ngor Okpala, Imo State, the South-Eastern part of Nigeria. He is the last child in a family of four. His parents who are now retired civil servants raised him in Imo State until he completed his secondary education in the state. He proceeded to the University of Calabar where he bagged a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics. It was in his University days that he picked an interest for the screen job. After graduation, he pushed his University degree aside and went into show business full time. Enyinna Nwigwe is 37 years old.

2. He started his career as a model

Enyinna Nwigwe has a striking good look that leaves many of his female fans mesmerized. With his good physique, he chose modeling as a line of career at the University of Calabar where he owned the runway as an undergraduate.

Enyinna or A-Yinna as he liked to be called transitioned into acting just the way models do; leveraging on the runway fame to gain more attention in the bigger stage. His first film was in 2005 when he played the role of Tony in “Wheel of Change”, a film directed by Jeta Amata. In 2006, Enyinna has started wearing the hat of an associate producer in the film “The Amazing Grace” a film he also played the role of Etukudo. The film received 11 nominations and won the award for Achievement in Cinematography at the Africa Movie Academy Awards in 2007. In 2008, he produced the film “Mary Slessor”, a film that tells the story of the missionary who stopped the killing of twins in Nigeria during the pre-colonial era.

Enyinna’s career received a big boost in 2012 when he starred alongside Kim Basinger, Mickey Rourke, Vivica A. Fox, Akon, Wyclef Jean, and Anne Heche in “Black November”. His career continued to soar and following the success of the film, he garnered more fan base.

In 2016, Enyinna played the role of Nonso Onwuka in the romantic comedy film “The Wedding Party” alongside actors like Richard Mofe Damijo, Ireti Doyle, Banky W, and Adesua Etomi Wellington. The film grossed over 400 million in the box office and is considered one of the best films to come out of Africa in 2016. Although the producers out of excitement tried made a sequel to the film which failed to hit the heights of the former.

He has also played the role of a gay pastor in the short film “Hell or High Water” a role he declared that he was not ashamed to play.

His latest film the thriller film “Living in Bondage: Breaking Free” a remake of the 1992 blockbuster film that focuses on wealth and occultic powers. The film is currently doing so well at the box office. Enyinna is also a brand ambassador of many brands and he works like someone who is scared of fading away and he has revealed that he wants to win an Oscar before dropping the acting gloves.

3. Enyinna Nwigwe is not married

Some entertainers take their time before ticking the marriage box. Many of them believe that they haven’t actualized their career goals yet while some believe that they have not found someone who truly compliments them. Enyinna falls in the latter. In many interviews he has granted to the press, he once said he is looking for someone who understands him completely. Other times, he said he is afraid of marrying the wrong girl.

“I’m not scared of getting married at all. I believe in timing. I am only worried about getting married to the wrong person. I’m not willing to go through that all. That’s why I have been careful not to make that terrible mistake,” he told Tribuneonlineng.
