Emsley A. Laney High School Reviews
Rating 3.6 out of 5 307 reviews
High school encompasses a blend of highs and lows. The best parts involve forging lasting friendships, discovering passions, and relishing memorable experiences. Supportive teachers and mentors also leave a lasting impact. Conversely, academic pressures, social challenges, and stress can weigh heavily. Addressing mental health support, promoting diversity, offering flexible curricula, and ensuring equitable access to opportunities are key areas for improvement. Ultimately, high school experiences shape individuals profoundly, influencing their paths beyond graduation. Striving for supportive, inclusive environments can enhance these formative years, nurturing growth, resilience, and success for all students.
Overall my experience at Laney was very positive. From the outside, it usually gets a bad reputation, but I did not think it was that bad. Thankfully I had an amazing guidance/academic counselor who helped me in my course load and planning for college. As a senior, I am beyond thankful for the advising I was given and the great staff that helped along the way.
Laney High School fails to meet the basic standards expected of an educational institution. From insufficient resources to a neglectful administration, the school's shortcomings are pervasive and detrimental to the academic and personal growth of its students. As such, I would not recommend Laney High School to any prospective students or parents seeking a quality education.
