Disney has officially released the first trailer of upcoming movie Cruella, a character from the animated classic 101 Dalmatians. The new film stars acclaimed Hollywood actress Emma Stone as the title character and based on what we’ve seen, we can already tell she’s a perfect fit.

Directed by Craig Gillespie (“I Tonya”), Cruella is “an all-new live-action feature film about the rebellious early days of one of cinemas most notorious – and notoriously fashionable – villains, the legendary Cruella de Vil,” according to Disney.

“Brilliant. Bad. A little bit mad.”

The film studio further tells us that the crime comedy is “set in 1970s London amidst the punk rock revolution, follows a young grifter named Estella, a clever and creative girl determined to make a name for herself with her designs.”

Disney also posted this teaser poster a day before dropping the trailer.

Initially set for a December 2020 release, Cruella has since been moved to May 2021 due to pandemic restrictions. Now fans are just excited to watch Emma Stone’s take on the beloved big bad!

As one fan wrote on YouTube:

“Cruella De Vil is Disney’s Harley Quinn!”

Another commenter remarked:

“Looks so damn good. Please Disney do NOT pull a Maleficent & turn one of your greatest villains into a misunderstood hero. Let her be bad.”

Cruella also stars Emma Thompson as Baroness, Emily Beecham as Anita, Dev Patel as Raj, Paul Walter Hauser as Horace Badun, Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Tabitha, Jamie Demetriou as Gerald, and Mark Strong as Boris.
