I'll say that this is a psychological thriller and not a horror and that is fine, just need to know. I enjoyed it and thought it was good but I won't be watching it again except maybe in 20 years when I've forgotten that I've even seen this one. Production quality is excellent, film looks drab but it matches the tone. It is very well paced and always interesting. The acting is excellent and the characters are engaging. It's well written and directed. It reminded me of Requiem for a Dream (2000) but less personally destructive and a bit of The Hand That Rocks the Cradle (1992) but actually probably better. The only thing I really hated was the ending. There is no conclusion, very disappointing. A bit like The Strangers (2008) I suppose.

This has killer potential that is never realised, and it's such a shame, as the protagonist babysitter is brilliant, and the premise is good enough. It really shouldn't have held back so much, and it would have delivered so much more as a result! Instead, it's decidedly mediocre, at best.

The main ‘bad girl' wasn't bad enough for me. I think though, if she acted any more, she would become too much of a pantomime. With that in mind, it couldn't have been written that well, as the characters did all they should have, given the dialogue. Was worth a watch…just missing something.

"Emelie" offers plenty of creepy and tense moments with its antagonist - an evil babysitter hired by a couple to oversee their three children while they celebrate their wedding anniversary. Although the movie remains in pretty familiar territory, "Emelie" is an effective horror-thriller that will leave the audience on the edge of their seats.

Its pretty good and entertaining, however not scary at all. Interesting fresh concept. A lot of the stuff that happens in the movie is fresh and original. The acting is pretty good too. A little unbelievable at times and sometimes characters make dumb decisions. Keeps you interested in whats going to happen next and the pacing isn't bad at all. Id say it's a good movie to pass the time and its really not that bad. Its much better than most of the horror movies out there, if youre looking for something to watch and can't find anything, this would be a decent choice.

It takes the babysitter-in-peril genre and spins it on its head with delicious ferocity, making it a horror opus I'd be curious to revisit as soon as the opportunity might arise.
