'Dynasty' star Elizabeth Gillies, 27, weds Michael Corcoran, 47, after pandemic postponed wedding

Congratulations are in order for actress Elizabeth Gillies and record producer Michael Corcoran: The couple are married!

In a series of posts to Instagram Wednesday, the "Dynasty" star, 27, shared photos of their wedding ceremony.

In one photo, Gillies, wearing a white gown, and Corcoran, in a suit, are standing before an officiant with an arch of flowers in the background.

In an interview Vogue Wednesday, the couple explained their original wedding date was in April, but things changed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“Once we saw how dire the situation was, we knew we had to postpone,” Gillies said. “It was a no-brainer for us. Aside from the obvious travel and crowd restrictions, it didn’t feel right to be celebrating in such a big way when there was so much going on in the world. It would have been in poor taste to burden people by asking them to risk their lives to come to our wedding. There were more important things to focus on. Our wedding could wait.”

Corcoran, 47, added, “It really focused everything down to what matters in life... A big, extravagant experience in the middle of a pandemic didn’t make any sense.”

The couple told the magazine that they still had a small celebration with family and friends who had been quarantining together. And although they planned on postponing a year, they eventually decided a "big wedding was no longer something that made sense."

"The virus really put things into perspective," Gillies explained. "That being said, we did want to get married as long as it could be done in a safe and intimate setting with a group that we trusted.”

Instead, the couple got married in August surrounded by 10 guests, they told the outlet.
