When Gräfin Elisabeth von Nassau-Dillenburg was born on 25 September 1542, in Dillenburg, Dillkreis, Hesse-Nassau, Prussia, Germany, her father, Graf Wilhelm I von Nassau-Dillenburg, was 55 and her mother, Juliana Gräfin zu Stolberg-Wernigerode, was 36. She married Graf Konrad von Solms-Braunfels on 6 June 1559, in Dillenburg, Lahn-Dill-Kreis, Hesse, Germany. They were the parents of at least 11 sons and 5 daughters. She died on 18 November 1603, in her hometown, at the age of 61, and was buried in Braunfels, Wetzlar, Rhineland, Prussia.
