Do you need help completing the steps to enroll at El Camino College? Stop by the Warrior Welcome Center and our staff can walk you through them in our computer lab in the Student Services Building.

Steps to Getting Started
What type of student are you?
You are a First - Time College Student if you have never attended college and this will be your first time.
- Create an OpenCCC account
- Apply to El Camino College
- Complete the English and Math Placement Survey located on your MyECC account to place into transfer level English and Math courses.
- Complete New Student Orientation
- Apply for Financial Aid (highly recommended)
- Meet with a Counselor or sign-up for a Group Counseling Session to pick your first semester classes.
- Register for classes
You are a Returning student if you have attended El Camino College in the past.
- Re-apply to El Camino College if you were not enrolled in the last Fall and Spring semester.
- Complete the English and Math Placement Survey located on your MyECC account to place into transfer level English and Math courses.
- Complete New Student Orientation
- Apply for Financial Aid (highly recommended)
- Meet with a Counselor
- Register for classes
You are a Transfer student if you have attended another college but never El Camino College
- Apply to El Camino College
- Complete the English and Math Placement Survey located on your MyECC account to place into transfer level English and Math courses.
- Complete New Student Orientation
- Apply for Financial Aid (highly recommended)
- Meet with a Counselor
- Register for classes
You are a Dual Enrollment student if you wish to attend El Camino College while being in grades K - 10 or 11 - 12. you must submit an online application to El Camino College as well as a Dual Enrollment application for every term you wish to dual enroll.

You are an international student is you are from a foreign country and carry a student F-1 visa.
