Hilaria Baldwin & Alec Baldwin's 7 Children - Parade Skip to main content

Alec Baldwin and wife Hilaria Baldwin have quite the hoard of kids. The pair welcomed their seventh child to the family in 2022, bringing their grand total to seven (eight if you count Alec's daughter from a previous marriage).

In November 2020, Hilaria told PEOPLE that she didn't think she and Alec would have any more children. This was two months after welcoming their fifth child, Eduardo Pau Lucas, who was born Sept. 8, 2020.

"During times of COVID, it very much feels like we're done," she said. "Everybody's asking me this question. I don't know. I've said in the past that I was done when I wasn't done. I think, right now, I'm so tired. And I feel, just with COVID — it's just insanity."

She added, though, that her kids were eager for more little ones in their brood.

"My kids are used to new siblings coming in, so they're already like, 'When is the next one going to come?'" she said. "And I'm like, 'Guys, you and the entire world need to stop asking me that!'"

Obviously the pair decided their house had room for a few more as Alec and Hilaria had two more children in 2021 and 2022.

And they may not be done just yet. On their 11th anniversary, Hilaria (maybe) joked in an Instagram post "Well here is to 11 more … years … maybe kids too … definitely cats.”

Alec replied: “18 kids? 18? That’s not a baseball team. That’s a baseball game!!!”

Here's everything you need to know about Alec and Hilaria Baldwin's children.

How many kids do Hilaria and Alec Baldwin have?

As of today, their brood is full of seven kids! However, Alec has a daughter from a previous relationship, which means he has eight children.

Ireland Baldwin

Alec's eldest child is model Ireland Baldwin, whom he shares with ex-wife Kim Basinger. Ireland, born in 1995, had a famously acrimonious relationship with Alec for a brief period in 2007 when she was 11 years old. A voicemail leaked in which a fuming Alec called his daughter a "rude, thoughtless little pig." Alec later apologized for the viral rant and the pair now joke about the incident, and she referred to it during a surprise appearance at the Comedy Central roast of her father in 2019.

Hilaria opened up about being a proud stepmom to the statuesque beauty in an April 2019 Instagram post.

"Having a stepchild is a delicate matter. Especially one who is grown. I think my relationship with her has been so successful because I never tried to step in as her mommy," she wrote. "She has a good mother, who I have tremendous respect for...and I put myself in Kim’s shoes: if my children ever had a stepmother, I’d want her to let me be number one."

Hilaria continued, "When I met Ireland, I said to Alec: if she is not ok with our relationship, I cannot go further. Family is first and she needed to be ok with me. We have never had a fight or a bad moment. Nor have I with her mother. Ireland and I love each other and she knows that I am here for her...and I know that she is here for me. I am inspired by her, look up to her (not just height-wise)...she gave her father away at our wedding, is the best big sister anyone could ask for...and I give her space. I don’t ever expect her to be anyone other than herself."

"As someone who loves her, my job was not to step in and take over...but rather respect what had been for the first 15 years of her life and then become a part of that, in a way that works for everyone," she concluded. "So yes, sometimes my language about my biological children does not include her. Because I did not birth her and I never want to disrespect the fact that she has a wonderful mother. But this will never take away from how much I love her, need her in my life, and think that she is one of the best things that has ever happened to me."

Ireland is an accomplished model, working with brands like Guess and True Religion. She also DJs and has appeared in films including Grudge Match.

Carmen Baldwin

Alec and Hilaria Baldwin welcomed daughter Carmen Gabriela Baldwin on August 23, 2013.

That December, Alec admitted to PEOPLE that parenthood was a ride. “It’s a second chance for me, in a way," he said. "Everybody knows I had a pretty unpleasant custody battle for Ireland."

Carmen has grown up to look much like her big sister, and mom Hilaria says the little girl is her "artist."

She's also quite the makeup artist, too!

Rafael Thomas Baldwin

Born June 17, 2015, Rafael Thomas Baldwin is Alec and Hilaria's first son and second child together. Often called "Rafa," he enjoys playing with his siblings...and messing around with sister Carmen in their mom's makeup drawer!

Alec joked on Instagram that the Zen little guy was "the Dalai Rafa."

Leonardo Angel Charles and Romeo Alejandro David

In September 2016, Alec and Hilaria welcomed their second son, Leonardo Angel Charles, affectionately nicknamed "Leoncito." In May 2018, third son/fourth child Romeo Alejandro David was born. Hilaria suffered a miscarriage in spring 2019, then a second in November.

“I have no shame or embarrassment with this experience,” she wrote on Instagram at the time. “I want to be a part of the effort to normalize miscarriage and remove the stigma from it.”

“I wanted to speak about it because it’s something that so many women deal with, and as women, we’re trained to deal with it silently,” she said, adding that having a community of women around her helped her cope, and she hoped to break the stigma surrounding the experience. “This is something I’ve never gone through before, and women came on Instagram or stopped me on the street and gave me such wisdom. This isn’t about me. It’s about all of us.”

Eduardo Pau Lucas

Her rainbow baby, son Eduardo Pau Lucas, was born September 8, 2020, bringing a lot of joy after the pair of miscarriages.

Maria Lucia Victoria

Hilaria revealed on Instagram in 2021 that their new baby's name is Lucia. "We are so in love with our daughter, Lucia. Just like your brothers and sisters, you are a dream come true," she captioned a closeup of the baby girl's face.

A few days later, she elaborated on how this baby came to be. "When I found out our baby had died, I told our children that their sister was going to come, just not at that time," she wrote on Instagram of her 2019 miscarriage. "Nothing will ever replace her, but two wonderful souls have come into our lives, and we are humbled to know them." It's unclear who these people are, but it seems they helped them get their new baby. "We are living each day, bonding, and grateful for all of the very special angels who helped bring Lucía into the world." She also revealed their new baby's full name: María Lucía Victoria. It was later revealed that the chid was born via a surrogate on February 25, 2021.
