Nestled on a picturesque beachfront, Occidental Eden Beruwala is celebrated for its stunning location and bountiful amenities, including an acclaimed pool, a variety of dining options, and direct beach access. While some guests suggest local eateries for more economical dining, the hotel's own food and beverages are also popular, despite being pricier for those not on an all-inclusive plan. The rooms earn praise for their modernity and cleanliness, though privacy concerns and occasional maintenance issues are noted. The attentive service and spotless environment further enhance the hotel's vibrant atmosphere, making for an unforgettable stay.

First visit to Sri Lanka and the Eden Resort & Spa.We had a fabulous two weeks stay.
As we arrived early our room wasn't ready but the helpful reception team checked us in and brought us a very welcome cup of tea.We had lunch at the restaurant and straight away felt very welcome, While having lunch we were told our room was ready.
Every member of staff from Management, restaurant, bar and cleaners were so friendly and helpful.
Saman greeted us every morning at the pool with towels and finding us a lounger.
The restaurant staff were very attentive and Nshantha, and Mahinde were always very helpful and efficient.
The bar staff at the pool bar and in the lounge bar were brilliant Pasan always remembered our room number and what drinks we had had. Wasantha was very professional and polite.
We were so lucky to be staying at the hotel on the 4th February and to take part in the Sri Lanken Independence Day celebrations.
We would have no hesitation in recommending the Eden Resort & Spa and we hope to return in 2021

We have just returned from two weeks in paradise in this wonderful Hotel & Spa.

The hotel is beautifully maintained and very clean. Our room was wonderful overlooking the pool and beach.

The food (we stayed AI) was phenomenal with a wide range of choices from SriLankan food to foods from all around the world. The chef even made me a special dish that I’d wanted to try.

The staff are great. Very attentive and helpful from reception to Salman preparing our loungers everyday, the housekeeping staff, the lovely waiter who bought me my “medicine” (G&T) at dinner and Sasindu the entertainments host who put us through our paces with Aquarobics. All friendly and super talented switching between the languages of all the guests.

I really can’t recommend this hotel highly enough

Nice hotel , fairly quiet whilst we were there so lacked a bit of atmosphere. Also beware building / renovation work taking place on some floors , whilst it was not noisy on an evening , drilling and banging could be heard during the day from apx 9am onwards .
Pool view rooms the best , if you get a sea view be warned you could end up looking over the tin roofs and tbh not very good view .
Food average , buffet style but plenty of options. Restaurant staff seem nice but they tend to have their ‘favourite’ clients so if like us are quite private people you can lack attention from them .
Pool lovely and heated which was a bit odd .
Sunbeds in abundance and pool boys all great . Some of sunbed mattresses though are a bit shabby and need replacing .
Cleanliness of hotel seems good.
Bar areas nice but lighting poor on an evening and needs improving .
Beach nice but no sun beds and red flag on most says so no swimming in the sea .
Bottled water available but only in small 500ml bottles so lots and lots of waste which isn’t very environmental friendly.
Would recommend though for winter sun holiday.

We are very much thankful to our host Piyumi for all the services she provided and help us to relocate to other room because it was twin beds with one extra third bed. It was crowed and no room to move around. She find us room with enough room. She even manage to cook food for Indian vegetarian food as some in our team were fedup with all other food. We still remember her smiling face.

It was really nice to have a resort like Eden to spend the quarantine period. From check-in to check-out all the procedures are really convenient and not disturbing to guests. Room is spacious, clean and comfortable as we have to spend whole time at the room i was really concerned about that and amazed with the room when I opened that for the first time. Special thank to Mr.Neranjan Nanayakkara who helped out and look after through out the stay by calling and attending to our requirements ASAP. It was really helpful to had him when I’m struggling to settle the room bill and with the options he gave i was able to solve that on the same day.

Thank you for all the army officers who worked in frontline and medical officers as well. Looking forward to stay at Eden again with my family after the pandemic and wish you all to stay safe.!

The location is great and the staff (especially at the Customer Service desk) extremely helpful and hospitable. Special call out for Piyumi who made our stay special. Great and value for money arrangement for water sports with focus on safety. Prasad at the activities desk does a great job of organising this.

Enjoyable, relaxing stay. Issue with the first room was quickly resolved and I ended up with a room that opened directly onto the pool area. Perfect. Pool is huge and well maintained although water a little too warm. Easy access to the beach for a morning stroll. Not a fan of the food selection on the buffet

My husband and I stayed here for 2 weeks from the 15th February and had a wonderful time .This is our third visit to Sri Lanka first time to the Eden and as expected it didn't disappoint. On the whole the weather was fantastic 30 degrees , had a couple of days when it rained but this was mainly in the evening .
Our room was lovely we were in 134 which meant that not only did we have a view of the pool but also a side view of the ocean and the beach.
Room was very clean ,beds were comfortable and the shower in the bathroom was a good size.
Maduranga was responsible for our room ,what can I say a real credit to the hotel always ensuring that we had everything that we could possibly need , nothing was to much trouble.
Rohan (sorry if I have spelt any of the staffs names wrong) who looked after the pool area is another credit to your team friendly and approachable making sure we were looked after.
The food in the restaurant was lovely chef Deepal De Alwis taking time out of his busy day to stop and talk to us.(Never did get the banana pudding recipe 😁)
Janani and Thajana it was a real pleasure to meet you
Tharindu you are a real asset to the hotel making time to sit and chat with us.
Desmond thank you for being so welcoming .
The staff in the sports bar were also lovely -changing the tv channels when my husband was trying to find a football match! once they knew what you drinking we never had to ask .
In fact all staff made us feel welcome and nothing was to much trouble , all a real asset to the hotel.
We had such a wonderful time and hoping to come back again very soon .

It was great pleasure to have our group Qurantine at Eden Resort & Spa, Beruwela, Sri Lanka to spend our 03rd batch's 14 days quarantine period , that was implemented as a mandatory government rule. The hotel managment togetehr with the Sri Lanka Army is handling the quarantine program. However, I must say our group stay at Eden Resort & Spa, Beruwela is very pleasant. nice and relaxing room, good and adjustable servise, nice foods.

Staff is very professional and friendly, Especially Mr.Tharindu Madushanka @ Reservations Department who helped to me from the begining and I really appriciated and thanking to him about it.

Thank you for the hotel managment also....

I would recommend this hotel for both business or pleasure trip also.Especially foreigners/Travellers who are interested in the coastal area of the country.

Overall this is the one of the best hotels in Sri Lanka.

The hotel is beautiful had a very nice view of beach it is almost on the beach. Rooms are very old and the staff is not friendly even the house keeping never picked the phones and front desk is useless and arrogant. We took 6 rooms and 2 rooms were without toiletries even repeated requests do not make the hotel staff hear.
I highly not recommend this hotel. There are many other issues also with the hotel.
Pls explore some more good hotels when coming to beruwala/ bentota
