Blackpink’s Lisa Makes History, Ed Sheeran Doubles Up And Drake Still Rules: The Biggest Songs In The World

This article is more than 2 years old.

Just seven days ago, Drake invaded the top 10 on the Billboard Global 200 chart as tunes from his new album Certified Lover Boy arrived. The rapper occupied eight spots inside the competitive region, landing more top 10 hits at one time than any artist had in the history of the list. Now, one week later, the Canadian powerhouse still rules, but there’s more room for others to chart successes as well.

The Billboard Global 200 is, at its most basic, a ranking of the 200 most-consumed songs in the world every week. The charting company utilizes a formula that combines sales and streaming activity from a plethora of platforms and websites in 200 countries around the globe to create the best-possible list of the tunes billions of people can’t get enough of.

The Kid Laroi and Justin Bieber’s “Stay” manages to stays right where it landed last time, ruling the Billboard Global 200 for an eighth frame. That’s an incredibly lengthy run for a chart that just turned one year old. Despite fierce competition in the past few weeks, nothing has been able to beat the catchy cut.

The loftiest launch this week comes from Blackpink member Lisa, who starts her debut solo single “Lalisa” in the runner-up rung. The tune has become a huge sales and streaming success (especially on YouTube), so it’s not surprising it opens inside the top 10. Lisa is now just the second South Korean solo musician to reach the highest tier, following in the footsteps of her bandmate Rosé, whose “On the Ground” entered the race at No. 1 this spring.

Ed Sheeran owns two spaces inside the top 10 on the latest Billboard Global 200, as his sturdy hit “Bad Habits” bolts back to No. 3 while new smash “Shivers” arrives at No. 7, giving him another major career win.

Drake comes next at No. 4 with “Way 2 Sexy,” which features Young Thug and Future, and that cut is one of four from Certified Lover Boy that appears inside the Billboard Global 200’s top 10 this frame. Fellow recent releases “Fair Trade” with Travis Scott (No. 6), “Girls Want Girls” with Lil Baby (No. 8) and “Knife Talk” with 21 Savage and Project Pat (No. 10) all fall from where they landed last time around, but Drake still manages to own more real estate inside the arena at one time than most artists can dream of.

Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow return to the top 10 on the new Billboard Global 200 with “Industry Baby,” the latest single from his just-dropped debut album Montero. The hit previously topped out at No. 3.

The only spot thus far unaccounted for is owned by Glass Animals, who score their first top 10 hit on the Billboard Global 200 with “Heat Waves.” The indie-pop band sees their globally-successful single bolt from No. 20 to No. 9, becoming the rare top 10 among bands.
