Harrison Ford (‘Shrinking’) soars into fourth place tie in Emmy comedy supporting actor race

Harrison Ford (‘Shrinking’) soars into fourth place tie in Emmy comedy supporting actor race
Don’t look now, but Indiana Jones is making his move.

Well, the man who portrays him is, anyway.

Harrison Ford has soared into a tie for fourth place in the Emmy comedy supporting actor race for his role as Dr. Paul Rhodes, a quiet, aging therapist coping with Parkinson’s disease in the Apple TV+ comedy “Shrinking.” He’s now deadlocked with Anthony Cardigan of “Barry” in fourth in the Gold Derby combined count with 10/1 odds. He trails only frontrunner Tyler James Williams of “Abbott Elementary,” two-time defending champ Brett Goldstein from “Ted Lasso” (who ironically happens to be a co-creator and an executive producer on “Shrinking”) and “Barry’s” Henry Winkler (another former category winner).

SEEHarrison Ford: ‘Shrinking’ and ‘1923’ could bag him first Emmy nominations

The rise of the 80-year-old film icon has been somewhat meteoric. He stood in 10th place when “Shrinking” premiered over Apple on January

6 MCU stars who could compete at this year’s Emmys: Elizabeth Olsen, Stellan Skarsgard, Jeff Bridges …
The MCU has featured almost every A-list actor working in Hollywood from veterans like Robert Redford to up-and-coming stars like Simu Liu and Kathryn Newton. So, naturally, it’s easy to spot an MCU alum whenever you’re watching another TV show or movie — and this Emmy awards season is no different. Here are six MCU actors past and present who could be nominated for an Emmy this year.

Donald Glover — “Atlanta

Okay, so admittedly Glover isn’t the first name you think of when you conjure up MCU actors, but he did feature in a scene with Tom Holland‘s Spider-Man in “Spider-Man: Homecoming” as Aaron Davis, who is actually the Prowler in the comics. Glover already has 10 Emmy nominations to his name and won two in 2017 for directing and starring in “Atlanta.” He’s back in contention this year for the same show and is predicted to pick

‘The Bear’ was the surprise hit of 2022, but the Emmys have yet to weigh in

‘The Bear’ was the surprise hit of 2022, but the Emmys have yet to weigh in
When I first heard that FX on Hulu had rolled out eight episodes of a new half-hour series called “The Bear,” I had visions of a talking grizzly hanging out in some suburban family’s living room – only to come to learn it was about a Chicago Italian beef sandwich shop. It honestly didn’t sound like my idea of appointment viewing. But then the critics reviews started to roll in. They were all singular raves, punctuating a 100% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The seriocomic venture that was far more serio than comic was praised for its intensity, for its uncanny cast chemistry and for its realism – for being the first show about the business of cooking and serving to finally get it right.

When awards season shifted into gear, “The Bear” was right there with “Ted Lasso” and “Abbott Elementary” as a TV darling – but also with a caveat.
