This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.

Nestled along the coast, the Magdalena Grand Beach & Golf Resort is celebrated by guests for its proximity to the beach and the friendliness of its staff. While some guests have encountered slow service at the on-site restaurants, the shuttle service and multiple pools are popular features. Opinions on the hotel's value and atmosphere are divided; celebrations and cleanliness receive commendation, yet the entertainment offerings and room decor are seen by some as areas needing improvement. The rooms, while spacious and often boasting ocean views, are frequently mentioned as ripe for an update.

Pros-
clean resort
friendly staff
decent food
Great made to order Pasta
Coffee shop serving Cappuccino
Free shuttle to Caribbean side
Packed lunch prepared on request
Water always available at desk

Cons-
Water too rough to swim in
small beach area
Bar closes at 11 (could also be pro is you like it quiet)
Having to sign a bill when everything is all inclusive
Specialty restaurant cannot accommodate too many people at one time
Slow service at lunch at Grill
Ran out of local money so could not always exchange at desk more than once

Overall this is a very nice place to stay with comfortable rooms and friendly staff. The place is quiet but relaxing.
Hotel still need to figure out the all inclusive operation but I still really enjoyed my stay.

Pros - Excellent breakfast, good main pool area, prompt response to issues in room
Cons - Outdated rooms- tiles need replacement, furniture is old, musty smell in room, sliding porch door needs service, electrical outlets should be checked before guests arrive as one outlet was non functional whilst the Safe had to be checked several times and the mini fridge did not work.

Whilst the package with breakfast/dinner was good value for money, attention should be paid to cleanliness of the rooms/bathrooms. Housekeeping staff need to also be prompt with requests for toiletries/towels.

People reading this will be either potential guests, management or staff. So lets start with the good bits. The staff are (almost) all wonderful from Susan at the desk to Pamela and Lystra in the restaurants. The food in Kalina is nice and well presented and service is good. We were very pleased they cleaned the carpets while we were there as before they were disgusting .Afternoon tea and coffee is very good in the cafe by the front ( the cofee in the restaurant is awful!!). The Robinson Crusoe pub is good fun with funny barstaff and decent pub food.
The average bits; The golf course is nice and challenging but the greens are poor. However with club hire at 200TT ( about £22) for a round with the free golf offer, its a pleasant round. The food in the Grill is good but service is very variable. The rooms are tired but the water is hot and beds quite comfy. Avoid rooms 238 to 248 as they are opposite the very noisy boiler/pump plant.
The poor; The whole place is tired and in serious need of a major overhaul with broken tiles , peeling paint, rotten wood railings and two of the three pools unusable. In fairness, we were told this was going to happen this year. The food in the pembois buffet is very boring and unimaginative and has the atmosphere of a transport cafe. Why cant they do some creole currys? At present they are building a stone breakwater on the beach so there's a couple of JCBs at work all day long and this work is running 2 months overdue so is not due to finish until the end of March ( at the earliest). Its a bit noisy but if you like watching diggers all day then its not too bad.
The terrible; Apart from Troy, management are invisible. Its a shame as this hotel could be spectacular. Unfortunately because of a dip in tourists, the hotel is about half full, like many on the island. It is wholly government owned and if they invest in it then maybe tourists will come back.
Off the property, pigeon point is a lovely sandy caribbean beach, Entry and sunbeds cost 100tt per couple ( about £11) per day but theres a free bus from the hotel each day and if your lucky you may even get picked up!! You can get $20 trips to the Nylon pool and No Mans Land from there which are exactly the same as the $50 trip from the hotel. No brainer! You will get offered tours of the island which are worthwhile. Try and see Englishmans bay ,Castara and Argyle Falls. Actually the best thing about Tobago is the people who are a delight. Avoid Scarborough. There is very little there to see. Overall we had a nice time, met some lovely people and had a tad too much to drink. Go and see for yourself. Enjoy

My husband and I just got back from the Magdalena resort in Tobago January 2nd to the 9th we had a very nice relaxing time it wasn't very busy and we had nice weather the resort is nice the beach has very strong waves as it is on the Atlantic side of the island they are building rock walls to break some of the waves so people will be able to use the beach it is supposed to be finished in February the cranes were out working every day we were there it was a little noisy but it didn't spoil our holiday we had the cheaper room which was on the bottom floor but still had a nice view we were unable to enjoy the patio as the sliding door was extremely hard to open I asked a couple of times for someone to fix it but gave up asking as nothing got done about it the room was a nice size and lots of counter space in the bathroom to put stuff the shower was a bit small. The food was average found the best food in the pub or the salaka grill most of the staff were friendly the worst part was being an all inclusive guest every time you had lunch, dinner, snacks or drinks they had you sign a bill it was so annoying I told the lady at the front desk I didn't like having to sign my name she said she would talk to the manager but no one ever got back to me about it. The grounds on the resort could have been cleaned up better especially on the side our room was on close to the smaller pool. There was entertainment only one night we were there it was just one lady singing I love to have shows and music in the evenings at resorts so I was very disappointed there was nothing to do after dinner. Overall we made the best of it it was a nice way to start the off the new year.

My fiancé and I stayed at the Magdalena Grand Beach and Golf Resort earlier in January of 2021. We wanted to stay somewhere that we could just relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the island (Tobago). The service was exceptional from the time we checked in till the time we checked out. Our room was decorated (complimentary), we received two glasses of red wine (complimentary) when we entered our room. The breakfast buffet had so many options and the Sunday night dinner was a romantic and relaxing setting. Overall, we had the best time and will definitely recommend this Resort for staycations and vacations.

Absolutely amazing experience ❤. Please note the hotel has strict covid protocols. Your luggage are sanitizer upon entry and the rooms are cleaned and labeled with a sticker until you open.

My husband and I would like to thank the entire staff for our fantastic, relaxing, fun weekend from Mikiesha at front desk to all the members that keep this facility running....

Our candle light dinner was divine, thank you

Initially we were a little disappointed that the beach was under construction but that was shortlived due to the following people. Onika Bristol made my surprise to my wife in renewing our wedding vows a reality,She went over and above to make it such a special night. Mekisha was awesome to ensure I was able to rent the scooter. Lylah for being so friendly, Krystle for taking the time to get me my tattoo, Regine for being so darn nice and wanting to help and to Kachief the bartender. That man has a sense of humor and does his best to ensure you have a good time. Finally, Latisha, that young lady was so friendly and smiled at everything, She greeted us whenever she was working and made sure we had what we asked for. I had issue with the food at times in that it wasn't too hot (temperature). The variety was good. The nightly entertainment was rather sparse, not like at other venues but hey, there is enough to do and the staff will help. I would also suggest that housekeeping change the sheets on the bed as ours were not changed. I didn't ask for it but I shouldn't have to. Overall, a great experience and the staff listed above ensured that was an amazing vacation.

Just come back from a great 10 night stay at the Magdalena Grand Tobago. A fantastic holiday exceeded our expectations. our room on the North wing room 226 was lovely with a great views of beach and pool area. The variety of food was excellent with the option to eat at 4/5 restaurants and afternoon tea was a lovely treat. The coffee shop was delightful and we loved Robinson Crusoe bar for after dinner cocktails delicious. Great pool area loads of space with nylon pool bar to keep you refreshed great service there by 2 young lady’s along with Nigel. The pool towel lady would come and check we had our sun screen on and changed our wet towels .The Staff what can I say everyone made you feel welcome always smiling and very welcoming Our rooms where spotless everyday lovely bed and pillows with white fluffy towels a big thank you to housekeeping. The restaurant manager Was very attentive along with Pamela and Shernece who made meal time fun. On the hole the hotel have done a great job to get back on track offer 2 years of Covid there is a little bit of TLC needed minor cosmetic things outside. The Beach is not the best on the island due to seaweed but it didn’t both us we put some beach shoes on and had great fun In big waves. There are some lovely walks and bike rides we made the most of our stay it was a great base with inclusive. They offers many trips would definitely go back. great Holiday a big thank you Magdalena.

The hotel is the most aesthetically pleasing property on the island, The pleasant drive through the golf course and the waterfall at the entrance relax you even before getting the tasty welcome cocktails.
The hotel has become the most value for money location to stay in Tobago while also being the most luxurious hotel.
The staff are very courteous and do their best to make you feel well taken care of.
A lot of credit goes to Mr Bajaj, the general manager, he is very accommodating and has brought a new standard to the hospitality industry of Tobago.
His innovative ideas and customer service of his staff make it difficult to choose anywhere else but Magdalena for your stay.
