The Fuel Cost Adjustment (FCA) may increase or decrease your bill. It is based on the difference between forecasted fuel prices and actual fuel prices (oil, gas and coal). The Fuel Cost Adjustment is updated every month to reflect the latest fuel price changes.

Fuel Cost Adjustment from 1 May 2024 is 43.9 cents per unit.

Calculating the Fuel Cost Adjustment 

Fuel Cost Adjustment = Annual fuel cost adjustment +/- Monthly adjustment

Based on the latest Tariff Review, the annual fuel cost adjustment is 46.3 cents per unit. In May 2024, the monthly adjustment is -2.4 cent per unit. Thus, the Fuel Cost Adjustment is 43.9 cents per unit.

  • The projected fuel cost per unit* of electricity is based on projections made in the Tariff Review.
  • The monthly adjustment may not be the exact sum of the last column's figures due to rounding.
  • The price of nuclear electricity is independent of fuel market movement and therefore no cost adjustment is required.
