Dustin Rhodes: I'm Going Into TNT Title Match On 1/17 AEW Dynamite With A Winning Attitude

Dustin Rhodes wants to add to his legacy by winning the TNT Championship.

On the January 17 episode of AEW Dynamite, Dustin Rhodes will challenge Christian Cage for the TNT Championship. Rhodes, 50, is a legend in the wrestling world, and he may be in the twilight of his career, but he will have a major opportunity on Wednesday.

Speaking with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Dustin Rhodes previewed the match.

“Christian is a hell of a talent. Opportunity knocks. He stepped up in my face, and I’m going to answer. Win, lose, or draw, I’m going to give it 100 percent. He’s one of the best at getting under somebody’s skin. I’m a wise man now, so I was pissed afterward, thinking to myself, ‘He got me.’ Christian sparked a nerve. But we’ll see how big and bad he is, and we’ll see if Dusty’s son wipes the floor with him," Rhodes said.

Rhodes is renowned for his work as a coach, but he will be in the spotlight on AEW Dynamite. He expressed his excitement about performing on the big stage. He also made it clear that he wants the gold, and he noted that the fans would erupt if he could pull off the win.

“I love to teach, I love to wrestle. I’m doing what I’m supposed to do, and I’m doing what fills my heart. On Dynamite, I’m going out there with a winning attitude. I want to become the next TNT champion. If I win, this place will erupt. If I can pull this off, what a notch it will be for ‘The Natural’," he said.

Adam Copeland previously said that Cage has made the TNT Championship more important than the world title. Check out his comments here.
