What travelers are saying
- LondonAdLondon, UK71 contributionsReally well curated museum. Housed in a historically important building. Started with a 12
Min informative film. Then walked through the various room. I like that the info board tell the story in order and in detail. I am one for reading the info (English and french) but there are loads of artefacts to look at too. €15 for 2. I learned loads.Written April 3, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. What they don't tell you is that the bell rings every 15 mins so if you come out of the elevator just as it rings you'll be in for a loud surprise.Written August 8, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sarah PRadlett, UK448 contributionsVery moving place to visit. To imagine all those soldiers waiting to be rescued and to think of all the little boats (as well as the huge ships) that were coming in to save these men. To think that over 338,000 were rescued but sadly about 40,000 were left behind and captured by the Germans. Its heartbreaking to think about the terror that these young men must have been feeling at that time. We visited Dunkirk as a side trip from Calais to Epernay, its only about 40 mins each way off that route and well worth a visit. When you're there, you can find parking along the road that runs parallel with the beach (and its free on Sundays). There is a very well maintained walkway along the beach and that part is dog friendly (no dogs allowed on the beach). There's plenty of cafes and restaurants there too. Its worth being there as low tide occurs as you start to see the many shipwrecks of some of the boats that didnt make it out of there start to appear from under the waves. Very moving.Written May 8, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- LiamP1234Horsham, UK157 contributionsVery moving and sobering thoughts when we visited here.
The memorial is immaculate and very well presented. It was good to see our local regiments, we appreciated the respect from the French people to put this on.Written October 6, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. And as we entered, I won't lie, I was a little concerned. It seemed like the zoo was unfinished. I don't know if it's because it's still being built or undergoing big renovations, but the entrance was like a building site. But as we went around, the rest of the zoo was very much complete. This was also a very cheap zoo (€4) so we didn't really know what to expect. And if you are expecting large animals like Elephants, Giraffes, Bears and Lions, you may be disappointed. But for the value, you actually get a lot. It's mostly smaller animals like Red Pandas, Otters, lots of Birds, Lynxes and small monkeys, but there is a lot of them. And the animals look happy. They are clean and some of them have very, very large enclosures for animals of their size. We were all very pleasantly surprised and it's a must do for families with small kids. And for €4, it's really good value. One of the friends I was with, said as we were leaving, "it's possibly the best €4 I've ever spent" and I'd agree.Written April 14, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DavidLille, France1,676 contributionsThis place does not have a cafe from which you can buy food. Only vending machines, which only take coins. Great. If you have them. Not much use if you turn up and then realise you are a bit hungerous.
So, I rushed my trip more than I otherwise would have done. Because there is some very interesting art that would definitely have been worthy of a longer look around!Written March 12, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lou DSolihull, England, United Kingdom20 contributionsA very cute little aquarium with lots of species given the small size of the place. As others have commented it doesn't take long to get round (we spent 45 mins but are big fish fans) and is better suited to small children, but at 3euros for adults & under 12's go free, it's a pleasant way to spend time on a rainy day.Written June 15, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Cristina MDunkirk, France21 contributionsBig nature park, opened till late, great for all ages. You can take a walk by yourself or partner, walk your dog(designated area for dogs), admire the nature, water and birds. There is a playground for kids and a bar. I like the diversity but there was a part of the plagground closed because it was broken.Written April 8, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
