Sheri-Nouane Duncan-Jones is the USAID Somalia Mission Director, based in Mogadishu. She works with Somalia’s leaders and international partners focusing efforts for stability, democracy, and prosperity to strengthen governance, counter and prevent violent extremism, and build resilience. Prior to this, she was the USAID Representative at the U.S. Mission to the United Nations Geneva leading development cooperation with Geneva-based UN agencies and international organizations. During her career, Sheri-Nouane served as Deputy Mission Director USAID/Cambodia, Senior Policy Advisor at Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (Canberra), and as Office Director/Team Lead in Cambodia, Ethiopia, Mozambique, and Bangladesh.

She is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service. Before joining the foreign service in 2003, Sheri-Nouane worked for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the Philippines and Atlanta, and was a Peace Corps volunteer in Thailand and Côte d’Ivoire.
