Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Liz HWirral, UK65 contributionsGreat visit to the park today, the car park was full on our arrival so instead of waiting we drove the short distance down to the cricket/ recreation site which had lots of free parking and a short 10 min cut through to the park.
Although busy the facilities were free and all clean, the kiosk was efficient and both cake and coffee tasty, you could pay on card which was an added bonus.
There is plenty to explore our 1.5yr of had a ball and we could have spent all day.Written 4 August 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Everyone you will meet there is a volunteer and they are lovely people. There were 4 beers on when we were there so you will likely find a style of beer you like! Check their website or call them to find when they are open and visit !Written 19 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Rich A3 contributionsI live locally, down the hill in Unstone.
The Travellers Rest is the best "local" I've ever had.
The selection of beers is excellent - I generally go for a Farmer's Blonde when I'm in there, or a Farmer's Belgian Blue around Christmas. There's also a good range of fruit ciders, gin and whisky galore, and hot drinks are great too.
The food is excellent - I've had pies, cheese platters, stew in giant Yorkshire puddings, all beautifully flavoured and well portioned.
It's cosy and warm inside, even in inclement weather - walked up there in a storm last weekend, and despite being battered on the walk, I was soon warm and comfortable on entering the pub!
The "beer garden" is a huge feature on nicer days. It's on a verge, looking out across the valley towards Dronfield, over the hills to Barlow, to Chesterfield, and even to the moors of the Peak District.
The staff are friendly, welcoming and quick.
We don't have much in the way of facilities in Unstone - no local shops or cafes. But we do have the Travellers Rest just up the hill - and having taken many visiting friends there, I hope that it stays in business for many years to come.Written 16 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Plenty of testing holes on a largely woodland course, though the first and last 3 holes almost feels like a links. Friendly and helpful in the pro shop, and if you get chance to play on a midweek afternoon it can feel you’ve got the course to yourself. - macedonboyGlasgow, UK179,824 contributionsThis memorial is in glorious memory of the fallen in the two world wars. The monument is a three stepped octagonal base. The plinth is in two parts. The lower portion is octagonal and aligns with the steps, while the upper portion is square with the rolls of honour engraved on bronze plaques on the sides of the plinth. Surmounting the plinth is a plain white sculpture of a soldier at ease. His right leg is resting on a tree stump, while his hands are resting on the muzzle of his rifle with the butt resting on the ground.Written 25 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sally sea-sideDevon, UK9 contributionsBeware of NEW car parking fees at The FORGE. DRONFIELD S18. Sad to see this new tariff. Don't get caught & get a fine.Written 12 July 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- macedonboyGlasgow, UK179,824 contributionsThis monument commemorates Sir Robert Peel repealing the Corn Laws that imposed tariffs and restrictions of imported cereals that were designed to keep prices high for domestic producers. The monument is a Gothic canopy, open on all sides and supported by buttress-like columns. The monument can be found on High Street at the entrance to the Civic centre, replacing a market cross that stood at the same spot.Written 28 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
