Salman Khan has started distributing food kits to the
frontline workers in the city as a part of his
food donation drive from last year. Last year, the actor’s food truck was seen distributing food packages amongst the underprivileged.
Yuva Sena leader Rahul Kanal, who is coordinating with the superstar, reportedly told a news portal that Salman expressed his concern for the police officers,
BMC staff and health workers on duty.
He was worried as to how they would procure essentials since most shops are shut and the grocery stores are functioning in the stipulated four-hour window.
Kanal revealed that within 24 hours of their conversation, their food trucks hit the road.
Elaborating further, Kanal added that a three-week plan has been charted out to distribute food packages to the COVOD-19 warriors. The
meal kits include tea, mineral water, a pack of biscuits, and snacks that include upma or poha or vada pav or pav bhaji. He added that they have also started a helpline number on which the frontline workers can call, and they will travel to their area to serve them. According to the Yuva leader, it is Salman’s way of thanking them for their sustained efforts. He added that this initiative will go on till May 15.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Salman has films like, ‘Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai’, ‘Kick 2’ and ‘Tiger 3’ in his pipeline.
