Only 8 stores remain in section slated to be demolished

Everything west of Fifth Street will remain in place.Businesses including River City Brewing Company, Macy's, Johnny Rockets and the Cinemark movie theaters will stay in place.

Some shoppers were taking advantage of store-closing sales that offered 50 percent off.
