Despite his album’s title Tickets To My Downfall, Machine Gun Kelly has been on the up-and-up with his Billboard 200 No. 1 project — and now, his first musical film, Downfalls High.
MGK and Mod Sun wrote and directed what they described as a “first of its kind musical film experience.” The pop-punk star and his Tickets producer Travis Barker narrate the 49-minute musical film Downfalls High, which stars TikTok star Chase Hudson and Euphoria actress Sydney Sweeney as a couple navigating high school. The musical film also features his Tickets collaborators Trippie Redd, Blackbear and Iann Dior as well as Maggie Lindemann.
“We’re making a new pop-punk Grease,” MGK told NME last fall. “It was almost like shooting 14 music videos back-to-back, but with a narrative that’s outside of my personal life stories. It focuses on other characters, and then me and [Barker] are just the narrators. It’s an interesting concept because it hasn’t been done for an album ever, maybe outside of like Pink Floyd’s The Wall.”
