In the drama directed by Joe Wright, which is set for release in September, Macdonald plays a character called Dolly, alongside Knightley who plays lead character Anna.
Less concerned about her role in the film, and more about Keira, Kelly told the magazine: 'I had never worked with Keira before, and she’s totally incredible.'
Comparing her to supermodel Kate Moss she continued: 'I remember meeting Kate Moss years ago, and I couldn’t take my eyes off her. Keira is like that too.'
The Scottish actress quipped: 'I kept gazing at her wondering, 'How is it possible for someone to be that gorgeous?' And she is really great fun too.'
Overwhelmed to be working with British director Wright, Macdonald admitted that she wasn't fond of her character in the film which is set in the late 19th century.
She said: 'She’s such a misery: always crying and pregnant. But I really wanted to work with Joe Wright so I knew it would be interesting. And, actually, it was such a laugh.'

Without nothing but praises for her husband, she told of how she was jealous of the bond, Dougie shares with their son.
'We don’t have a nanny and Dougie is completely hands-on; I’m actually a tiny bit jealous of their relationship. Freddie is such a daddy’s boy.'
She added: 'Dougie is the most supportive husband, he’s amazing. The best thing I ever did was bump into him.'
