abilitiesAbilities are skills or competences that have applicability in some sort of activity.

aura sensing (1)The ability to read the aura of other beings and objects. This ranges from being able to feel their presence, to their intentions or even abilities. It is usually portrayed as a visual ability, but can also be a 6th sense ability not linked to the basic senses.clever (1)A clever or smart person is generally understood as having broad knowledge and the sharpness of mind required to put that knowledge to good use, especially when applying rational thought to long-reaching decisions, with the broad knowledge leaning more on the smart side and the sharp mind on the clever side. Unlike a genius, the clever person may be skilled, but only mundanely so, and in contrast to a cunning person, a clever person is not characterized by being sly or apt at surreptitiousness.elasticity (1)Ability to stretch, deform, expand or contract one`s body into any form imaginable. It may be limited to part(s) of the body.extreme durability (1)The character possesses some sort of natural armor. It takes extreme amounts of damage to even injure, let alone kill him/her/it.extreme speed (1)The character has an astonishing speed, surpassing the Human limits.flying (8)This character has wings, natural or artificial, which enable the character to take flight. Or is in command of some form of levitation (e.g. a witch using a broom to fly). Not to be confused with "flying planes" or "flying helicopters".free-form shapeshifting (1)Free-form shapeshifting is the ability to change one`s bodily appearance, form, and structure in any way that the user desires, without being restricted to a limited number of forms. This is contrasted to fixed-form shapeshifting, the ability to switch one`s bodily appearance, form, and structure between two or more predetermined forms, while being restricted to picking only from among those forms.keen hearing (1)no description setki blast (5)A ki blast is a weaponisation of ki manipulation that some fictional martial artists are capable of. Famous examples include the Hadouken and the Kamehameha.ki manipulation (7)Ki, also chi or qi, is believed to be a vital force forming part of any living thing. It literally translates as "breath", "air", or "gas", and figuratively as "material energy", "life force", or "energy flow", and it is the central underlying principle in traditional Chinese medicine and Chinese martial arts.martial arts (10)Various sports or skills, mainly of Japanese origin, that originated as forms of self-defense or attack, such as judo, karate, and kendo.muscle enhancement (1)Muscle enhancement is the ability to temporarily enhance one`s muscles.regeneration (1)Regeneration is a supernatural ability to repair great extents of damage incurred as a result of, for example, combat or accidents, and generally to do so fairly quickly. This may include, for example, the replacement of destroyed limbs and organs in a matter of minutes or less. It is not to be confused with the slow, limited, natural damage repair ability that most living organisms have, which does not provide for replacement of limbs and organs, quick or otherwise.teleportation (1)Teleportation is the transfer of matter from one point to another, possibly a distant one, without application of force, and generally instantly. This contradicts scientific law as we know it, and is therefore nowadays impossible. Sometimes it appears as a paranormal or supernatural ability, and sometimes it is shown in science fiction through technological devices backed up by scientific laws yet to be discovered.

clothingClothing is fiber and textile material worn on the body.

bodysuit (1)A bodysuit is a one-piece outfit that fits the body tightly. The most famous anime bodysuits are doubtlessly the Evangelion plugsuits. Space suits are not bodysuits, because they are not tight, but one-piece wetsuits or swimwear are. They do not have to cover the legs, as bodysuits do not need to cover the entire body. They are not to be confused with an entirely different piece of clothing that covers the torso and crotch and which is also named bodysuit, but is an undergarment, not an outfit.boots (2)Boots are heavy-duty work shoes that are often made of leather and have thick rubber soles. They are usually found stomping on things: floors, people, etc. Generally, typical boots can be as short as angle height (ankle boots), and as long as the mid point of the lower leg (crew length boots). Boots at least longer than crew length would be half boots or higher.cape (1)A cape is a sleeveless, hood-less outer garment, which drapes the wearer`s back, arms, and chest, and connects at the neck. In contrast to a cloak, a cape leaves the front fairly open whereas a cloak provides more frontal cover. A short cape that only covers just the shoulders is a capelet. A cape or cloak with sleeves is a robe.cheongsam (1)A traditional one-piece Chinese dress for women. It is often accompanied by a pair of hair buns.cycling shorts (1)Cycling shorts (also known as bike shorts, bicycling shorts or knicks) are short, skin-tight legwear designed to improve comfort and efficiency while cycling. The term "spats" often used to describe cycling shorts in anime is actually a general term for leggings in Japan. Cycling shorts are designed to be worn alone with no undergarments, or as an undergarment. Shorts made from several panels (or cuts of fabric) fit better, but cost more. Short-legged elastic tights commonly worn as street wear, under school uniform skirts or for gymnastics and ballet practice, are sometimes also referred to as bike shorts, but they are typically simpler and lighter garments than those worn by cyclists and generally lack the chamois or faux-chamois lining. These shorts are also used for football, rugby and various other sports, underneath `normal` shorts for warmth.shorts (1)Shorts are a garment worn over the pelvic area, circling the waist and splitting to cover the upper part of the legs, sometimes extending down to the knees but not covering the entire length of the leg.skirt (1)A skirt is a tube- or cone-shaped piece of clothing that hangs from the waist and covers the legs partially or fully. Skirts are often seen as garments for women, but exceptions exist. In anime, they`re almost always worn by women, generally as school uniform or workplace garments, and a man with one will likely be cross-dressing. Skirts that go below the knee are usually associated with strict rules and at times with winter, though even in winter anime schoolgirls in miniskirts can be found.t-shirt (1)A T-shirt, or tee shirt, is a style of fabric shirt named after the T shape of its body and sleeves. Traditionally it has short sleeves and a round neckline, known as a crew neck, which lacks a collar. T-shirts are generally made of a stretchy, light and inexpensive fabric and are easy to clean.vest (2)A vest is a sleeveless garment covering the upper body. The term has different meanings around the world. If the character is wearing the formal wear waistcoat vest, or wearing a sweater vest, use those respective tags and do not tag vest.

The term comes from "CYBernetic ORGganism", which literally means an organism that contains both mechanical and organic components.half-breed (3)A half-breed is a being with parents belonging to different species; the mule, the offspring of a male donkey (jack) and a female horse (mare), is one such being. In fiction, the most common half-breeds are breeds between a human and either an alien or some kind of supernatural being, like a vampire, demon, or god.human (3)Modern humans are the only extant members of the subtribe Hominina. Together with chimpanzees, gorillas, and orangutans, they are part of the family Hominidae. Terrestrial animals, humans are characterized by their erect posture and bipedal locomotion; high manual dexterity and heavy tool use compared to other animals; open-ended and complex language use compared to other animal communications; larger, more complex brains than other animals; and highly advanced and organized societies.pig person (1)no description setsaiyajin (6)A nearly extinct alien race, the Saiyans are known for their legendary fighting ability. Particularly strong individuals can transform into Super Saiyans, great increasing their fighting potential. Saiyans look like human, but with monkey like tails. Unless this tail is removed, seeing a full moon will cause them to turn into a giant ape.

looksThe looks are a person`s physical appearance. They are commonly used to describe people. Specific parts of one`s looks are most often referred to when especially pleasing or attractive, and sometimes also when particularly jarring.

afro (1)An Afro is a hairstyle worn naturally by people with lengthy kinky hair texture or specifically styled in such a fashion by individuals with naturally curly or straight hair. The hairstyle is created by combing the hair away from the scalp, allowing the hair to extend out from the head in a large, rounded shape, much like a cloud or ball.bald (2)A bald person is someone, most often a male, who does not have any hair on their head. They are distinct from and should not be confused with a cuteness fang, a single prominent canine tooth that suggests a cat-like and energetic nature or a state of excitement, or misaligned teeth, which are a facial misfeature with no actual purpose.green skin (1)This beings skin has a green hue.horseshoe moustache (1)A horseshoe moustache is a full moustache with vertical extensions grown on the corners of the lips and down the sides of the mouth to the jawline, resembling an upside-down U or a horseshoe. The horseshoe moustache is not to be confused with the Fu Manchu moustache; while the Fu Manchu moustache grows only from the corners of the upper lip, the horseshoe moustache grows from the entire horseshoe shape.long hair (3)Long hair is hair from (but not including) shoulder-length, up to (but not including) waist length hair. Scars are result of the biological process of wound repair in the skin and scarring is a natural part of the healing process.short (2)Describes a person with below average height.shoulder-length hair (1)Shoulder-length hair is hair at shoulder length, within a few centimetres margin. This hair length is longer than what one would typically, though not always, see on most males. Short hair includes hair that goes no more than a centimetre or two beyond the chin; anything longer is shoulder-length. Typical male hair at the back of the head which reaches the shoulders does not count as shoulder-length hair; the individual hair strands are very short (0-4 cm), and therefore count as short hair.single hairbun (1)A single hairbun is a hairstyle sporting one hairbun. To produce a hairbun, hair is pulled backwards and twisted or plaited, then wrapped in a circular coil around itself. A hairbun can be at the base of a ponytail. A single hairbun is typically placed on the back of the head or near the neck, aligned with the middle of the body. A hairstyle sporting two off-center hairbuns, one to each side, is a double hairbun and not a single hairbun.spiked hair (3)The hair is styled up into spikes.tall (1)Describes a person with above average height.tareme (1)Tareme is a style of drawing eyes where they droop or sag, resulting in a weak, gentle look. Typically, a moe character will have those definitive, sympathy-magnet puppy-dog eyes. A character with tareme is usually considered gentle, kind, or soft. The opposite is tsurime.tiny pupils (2)The character`s pupils are simple dots, making determination of eye colour impossible.white hair (1)The character has pure white hair.widow`s peak (1)A widow`s peak is a V-shaped point in the hairline in the center of the forehead.yellow hair (1)The character has yellow hair. This movie takes place several years after the Buu fight. It was cool to see Goku and his buddies again after so long; however, I'd only watch this movie if you're a hardcore fan as you're not missing anything... just a non-climatic fight.

And so DB anime is ushered, kicking and screaming in the 21st century. Does it pass muster? Well, it's a nice way to pass the time at any rate.

Dragon Ball: Ossu! Kaette Kita Son Goku to Nakamatachi!! is one of the three anime for celebrating the 40th anniversary of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine (the other two anime are One Piece and Tegami Bachi). You can watch this Dragonball Z special for free, although you need to use the Jumpland browser, i.e. you need MS Windows. I don't know whether Mac users can watch the special. Perhaps you can install the needed Jumpland browser via the open-source wine, which you can download at www.winehq.org.

Lets see how good the Dragonball Z special for the anniversary has become.

Animation=6; the animations are okay and sometimes average at best - the in-between animations are not as good as those in the tv series or movies, but the 3D generated ones (cell-shaded ones), used for rotating/zooming/viewing panorama, first person view during fights etc., are good.

Sound=8; The original OP song "Cha-La Head-Cha-La" is the opening song for this Dragonball Z special, which is still very good (much better than the "Dragon, Dragon, Dragon, Dragonball" rock song for the western market - I don't know the actual name for this song). Furthermore, the usual familiar background music/ambient is also here in the special. The voice-acting by the seiyus are good, but nothing spectacular. Maybe one voice is a bit off: the voice for Krilin which should be done by Mayumi Tanaka (yes, the same famous seiyu for Monkey D. Luffy from One Piece); maybe a cold(?).

Story=6; I find the story/script for this anniversary special quite enjoyable. Most of the time the anime is funny, even during the fights. The story is quite simple (maybe a little too simple): meeting everyone and fight a couple of villains who're related to an old enemy. Overall very enjoyable and funny, especially when the "staring each other for minutes before fights" moments are gone/absent which are quite usual in the tv series. A typical special.

Character=7; it is good to see that almost every cast of the Dragonball Z anime appear in the special, except Tenshinhan (Tien) - although one of his "special move" is used during the anime special.
the seiyu for the character Tenshinhan (Tien), Hirotaka Suzuoki, has passed away because of lung cancer in 2006)
The others who are missing are Chaozu (Tenshinhan's sidekick) and villains like Frieza, Cell, etc..

Surprises are
Tarble (Vegita's younger brother) and especially Tarble's wife, Gure!

Value=8; The value is good, since you can watch the special for free, although you need MS Windows and have to install the Jumpland browser. Other issue that I had while watching the special is the buffering which is quite slow. It would be a 9 if it was an issue-free experience.

Enjoyment=7; I must say I have enjoyed this special, although I have expected more, e.g. better fight scenes, better animations, and above all, where are the Dragonballs and Sheng Long!?

Overall, this Dragonball Z anniversary special is fun to watch and good for a laugh. But it may be just too shallow for the real die-hard Dragonball Z fans.

Well this is my first review on here

I felt it should have looked better than it did, especially after coming back to this series after so much time.

The story, well for what it is i think it works.

I have warm childhood memories of DBZ, and i felt like i was revisiting an old friend i hadn't seen in a long time.

The jokes made me laugh or at least smirk, and the fighting (what there was of it) was good. Though, i have to say Gotenks is about my least favorite character and sadly most of the fighting centers around him (them?).

Its a good warm up for DB online coming out next year :)

It definitely leaves you wishing DBZ could go on forever.
