According to our host, Dick Van Dyke, during this 1 hour special we will see how the world is celebrating the 50th Birthday of the American Hero. Donald Duck’s 50th Birthday aired on CBS during the Magical World of Disney November 13, 1984. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Donald Duck who first appeared in the Walt Disney Short The Wise Little Hen in 1934.
We get to see Donald in both animated and live form with Dick Van Dyke along with Ed Asner, C3Po and R2D2, Bruce Jenner, Clorise Leachman, John Ritter, Kenny Rodgers, Donna Summer, Andy Warhol and Henry Winkler. We also get to see Donald’s international tour form 1984, fishing with a parade in Donald’s honor at Disneyland. This special was the last time Clarence “Ducky” Nash voiced Donald Duck.
