Before David Bowie’s tragic death, from liver cancer in 2016, he and the Somali-born supermodel Iman were together for 26 years. They met in 1990 and married in Lausanne, Switzerland, in 1992, and have one child together, a daughter born in 2000.
Iman on the down-to-earth nature of their marriage : “As I always said: I fell in love with David Jones. I did not fall in love with David Bowie. Bowie is just a persona. He's a singer, an entertainer. David Jones is a man I met.”
