Writing a screenplay and I wanted to give one of the characters a really awesome handgun. Anything is on the table.
Electronic shooting, killing roleplaying games are sanctioned by Hawaii High School Athletic Association? Yet students in public schools cannot wear a t-shirt/clothing with an image/logo of a firearm, ammunition, drawing or depiction of a firearm or amunition or semblance of such. Or have the image on a piece of paper or in a magazine or other publication. Violations result in suspension.
Sanctioning of these types of competitions is HYPOCRITICAL of the Hawaii Department of Education.
LOL... in Hawaii schools? Guns bad... Killing video games good. We're doomed!
Big heavy 9mm bullets are really popular for short barrel pistols, and seem to perform very well in that application.
However, some of the PCCs are blowback with long 16" barrels, and the really heavy slower 9mm bullets may not make it far enough down the barrel to reduce pressure before the action starts to open. This can cause various safety issues.
High velocity lighter bullets seem to perform better on the longer barrels and have enough added velocity to where they work decent at range (for a 9mm), and the extra speed allows the lower mass to still hit with respectable ftlbs.
However, more speed isn't universally better for hollow-points, because they are designed to hit at a certain velocity. Go too fast, and some may not expand properly, so be sure to check youtube tests of what you pick.
I decided to go with Underwood Xtreme Defender +P 90 grain for my PCC. Its a very fast bullet, and while quite light, seems to perform well at high velocities out of a PCC, and because it uses fluid dynamics instead of traditional hollowpoint expansion, seems to be able to penetrate barriers and yet still maintain intact to deliver energy onto a mostly liquid (tissue) target.
Lastly, although quite minor, the ultra light (50) vs ultra heavy (165) 9mm rounds can save up to 8 ounces weight per 30 round Glock stick.

I love my Vortex Spitfire, except it’s not a shake-awake so in a home defense scenario I would have to grab the ear pro, grab the rifle, press the up arrow 5 times to turn the optic up to the brightest setting, turn the flashlight on, and disengage the safety.
Having a shake-awake prism optic would remove an unnecessary step in the home defense process.
