Reviews
- Edited one year agoAlthough Hoyt Axton is credited with co-writing "Sailor Man Waltz", this is almost certainly an error. Charles "Packy" Axton was a founding member of The Mar-Keys (and the son/nephew of the founders of Stax Records), and is the likely co-writer here. (Strangely, the tune doesn't appear in BMI's online data base, and all other releases of the album credit it to only the surnames, so I can't definitively prove this.)
Also, the BMI database credits "Squint-Eye" to Steve Cropper, Booker T. Jones, Gil Caple, Charles Axton, Marvell Thomas, and Donald ("Duck") Dunn.
