I just got my copy of Dixie Chicken direct from the Rhino store, and the sleeve is damaged on the edge, front, and back. It looks like it happened at the factory, almost like it was ground away by a stray sleeve cutter. I wet cleaned and vacuumed the first disc, and it sounds great. It sounds somewhat compressed, which would be my only complaint about sound quality. No pops or clicks. I contacted support about getting a new sleeve. Fingers crossed.referencing Dixie Chicken (LP, Album, Reissue, Remastered, LP, LP, All Media, Deluxe Edition) R1 695370
Unlucky you. Seriously, there are no complaints about the pressing that was "Made in Czech Republic". Same bar code, same matrix numbers. But obviously much better product quality, apart from the immaculate music that was Little Feat in the first half of the 1970s.- Decent pressing given the year. Some of the best and most accessible content from Little Feat, likely their most popular album along with Waiting For Columbus.

Agree with all of these comments. Dark, muddy, no soundstage, did MFSL have their kit plugged in properly. Can't imagine anyone has stumped up for this on Discogs. I'll keep my copy just to remind myself how these things can so horribly wrong. PS also have a Warner Bros. Records K46200 1973 UK/Europe pressing. It's been around the block with multitudinous memorable plays but sounds so lovely compared to this Drek - peace - greferencing Dixie Chicken (LP, Album, Reissue, Remastered, LP, LP, All Media, Deluxe Edition) R1 695370
I read a lot of comments here about excessive surface noise so I must have gotten lucky, my copy seems fine aside from the usual couple of clicks and pops. Do hate this tri-section cover though, the middle disk is difficult to get out so will just keep all three disks outside the package but inside my plastic outer sleeve. Looking closely at the cover though, I do see some bent up corners. I got this fairly right from importcds, and am pretty happy, not gonna spring for Sailing Shoes though and hope Rhino does better with Feats Don't Fail Me Now. Gotta give them big props for releasing Elektifik Lycanthrope though, that goes a long way in my book to excusing slights on these later deluxe editions as long as the vinyl sounds ok. I gave up on ordering direct from Rhino a long time ago.referencing Dixie Chicken (LP, Album, Reissue, Remastered, LP, LP, All Media, Deluxe Edition) R1 695370

Warner will not read any of these posts, but it confirms these large organizations know there is a demand for this music on vinyl and especially cut by Bernie Grundman. To have a poor vinyl is a shame and bullshit!
These executives looking at the cents for increase profits end giving us a record with pops and tics. They do not care, so next time I will not fall for this.
Bernie Grundman held up to his side of the deal, Warner failed by not giving these records to a pressing plant that would do it justice. I am disappointed!referencing Dixie Chicken (LP, Album, Reissue, Remastered, LP, LP, All Media, Deluxe Edition) R1 695370
Not sure why Rhino would have Bernie Grundman (one of the best mastering engineers around) cut this AAA, do all kinds of wonderful archive digging by Jason Jones, and then press this at Memphis Record Pressing--one of the worst pressing plants in the world. The mind boggles. I've gone through three (so far at least) copies of this and each one is noisier and more poorly pressed than the last. Pops and crackles abound, and that's after thorough cleanings with my Nitty Gritty RCM. Just shameful QC nowadays.referencing Dixie Chicken (LP, Album, Reissue, Remastered, LP, LP, All Media, Deluxe Edition) R1 695370
Ordered from a company in the US and had it shipped to Australia, it just arrived..... outer packaging is perfect..... spine of the record is torn and has a hole in it, it 100% looks like it was damaged before it was packaged..... sent them an e-mail explaining and see what they say but their usual response is that it is returned at sellers expense..... fingers crossed they see differently.
