Dina Eastwood made headlines when she filed for legal separation from husband Clint Eastwood in September, but it seemed as if a reconciliation was on the horizon when she withdrew the petition two days later. Now, it seems the actor-director's wife is officially closing the book on her 17-year marriage to the Hollywood icon.

In court documents filed Tuesday, the actor-director's wife cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split and asked for physical custody of their 16-year-old daughter, Morgan, and joint legal custody. She is also seeking spousal support.

Dina previously confirmed the split to Us Weekly, explaining that they remain close, but have been living apart for an unspecified amount of time. A source told the magazine that the separation was "amicable."

In 2008, Eastwood spoke highly of his wife in an interview with Parade. "Dina is a great asset to me," the Million Dollar Baby actor said. "She doesn’t have the usual resentment about prior relationships. She’s befriended everyone, so it keeps this dysfunctional family together."

"I don’t think Clint has a care anymore about how he’s portrayed on film," Dina, a TV reporter, added. “He likes now being seen as a grandfather, as vulnerable, as crying over his daughters."

The four-time Oscar winner first met Dina at age 63 when she was assigned to interview him. They married in March 1996, and discovered they were expecting a child not long after.

“We were in Hawaii on our honeymoon,” he said in 2008. “After a few weeks, she said she felt a little nausea. She asked me to stop at a gas station so she could buy one of those sticks. She came back and said, ‘We’re pregnant ... At least nobody stood there with a shotgun when we got married.”

Eastwood has been married once before—for nearly 30 years to Maggie Eastwood, with whom he had two children. The four-time Oscar winner also has four children from other relationships, including one daughter, Francesca, with Unforgiven costar Frances Fisher.

Eastwood and his wife are the second long-term Hollywood couple to announce their separation this week. Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones confirmed Wednesday that they are "taking some time apart to evaluate and work on their marriage," via a statement to People.
