This is the second volume of live NRBQ from the same weekend in 1987 that produced the "God Bless Us All" album. Half of these tracks were recorded at Toad's Place in New Haven; the other half at Lupo's Heartbreak Hotel in Providence. To keep things "honest," the audience wasn't told that the shows were being recorded. The unpredictability includes a karaoke version of Billy Joel's "Just the Way You Are" (over a prerecorded backing, natch), a hot version of the rockabilly classic "Rocket In My Pocket," and more.

This is a great live set with a real fun collection of songs. Other live NRBQ cds have the usual greatest hits but this one digs deeper.
"What a nice way to go" is about dying when your doing what you would like to do when your about to die. Who wouldn't want to die when making whoopee? Its a great song yet it is still a real song and not some goofy novelty number.
"That neat, Thats nice" demonstrates the incredible musical interaction among the band members.
"It Comes to me naturally" is a rocker with Al Anderson ripping on his telecaster.
"Macho Maria is a little bit mariachi and a lot a bit typcial NRBQ. Its a great song.
"You are so beautiful" shows how gorgeous Al ANderson (I think) voice was.
Only NRBQA could pull this off but they do a karaeoke version of Billy Joel's "Just the way you are" and actually make it worthwhile and enjoyable. Believe it or not, this is a worthy entrant on the cd.
I feel that this and "You got to be Loose" are the 2 best live works. It is NEVER a subsitute for seeing them live.
For those you unfamiliar with NRBQ get ready for a blast of live music, mostly rock and roll, but much more than that. This version of NRBQ includes Terry, Al, Joey, and Tom augmented by the Whole Wheat Horns. And a joyous, toe-tapping affair it is. Vintage "Q" including a rip roaring versions of Daddy-o Loves Mommy-O/Who Does Daddy-O Love? medley and "That's Nice That's Neat". Diggin' Uncle "Q" is NRBQ at is best. Great musicians and performers, the "Q" truly enjoy playing live. They are into it as much as the crowd is. A good time was had by all! Strongly Recommended!!
