For the record, Samantha Geimer did NOT want to be raped by Roman Polanski when she was 13 years old.
But she also isn’t holding Quentin Tarantino accountable for suggesting she did in an interview 15 years ago.

Geimer, now 54, said she was shocked to learn that the Pulp Fiction director went on Howard Stern‘s radio show in 2003 and characterized her 1977 rape as a consensual encounter, telling the NY Daily News:
“He was wrong. I bet he knows it. I hope he doesn’t make an ass of himself and keep talking that way.”
The resurfaced interview ignited a wave of outrage against the filmmaker, who was already in the internet’s crosshairs for forcing Uma Thurman to perform a life-risking stunt on Kill Bill.
Polanski’s victim, however, is cutting Tarantino some slack over his ignorant words — assuming, of course, he has since evolved his logic. Geimer said:
“I’m not upset, but I would probably feel better if he realizes now that he was wrong, after 15 years, after hearing the facts. Nobody has to be pissed off on my behalf. I’m okay.”
Someone try telling that to Twitter.

As we reported, the Stern interview that resurfaced late Monday featured Tarantino defending Polanski’s actions in the criminal case that led to him fleeing the United States to avoid being sentenced. He told Stern and the show’s cohost Robin Quivers:
“Look, she was down with this├óΓé¼┬ª [she was] down to party with Roman.”
By now, Geimer hopes Tarantino has learned the error of his ways, telling The News:
“He is obviously incorrect. Hopefully by now he knows that it didn’t happen that way.”
Unlike her internet defenders, Geimer is willing to move past Tarantino’s comments considering his more recent support of Thurman and other victims of assault.

Noting that she made peace with the encounter by writing her 2013 book, The Girl: A Life in the Shadow of Roman Polanski, Geimer admitted:
“It’s not a big deal to me what people think. It doesn’t make a difference in my life. I know what happened. I do not need other people weighing in on what it’s like getting raped at 13.”
In addition to forgiving and forgetting, Geimer confessed that she still loves Tarantino’s work, particularly his script True Romance, adding:
“I like that kind of movie. I like his movies. Being a celebrity doesn’t make you a great guy.”
Now that’s something we can ALL agree on!
Sure, the victim may forgive Tarantino… but will he be vindicated by the executioner that is social media?
