Dickinson is a nationally recognized liberal-arts college chartered in 1783 in Carlisle, Pa. Dedicated to its revolutionary roots, the college maintains the mission of founder Benjamin Rush—to provide a useful education in the liberal arts and sciences. Dickinson offers 46 majors plus minors, certificate programs, and independent-research and internship opportunities. Innovative programs range from data analytics to health studies, and Dickinson’s decidedly global curriculum includes 13 languages and a variety of globally oriented courses. I loved the experiences that Dickinson College gave me! As a science major, I was able to complete multiple research projects as an undergraduate and become a published author. The STEM professors were all caring and dedicated to their students and I felt really supported - even since graduating! I loved how Dickinson was surrounded by nature and had so many fun local adventures like the college farm, the Appalachian Trail, and the cute town of Carlisle itself. I was able to be on the dance team and the club volleyball team and felt like I made so many friends at Dickinson. I am so grateful for the experiences I had!

Review Dickinson College

The tuition increasing while they revamp the dining building instead of renovating dorms with mold speaks volumes in itself. However, the professors are very helpful and willing to meet one-on-one. Also if you are planning on going into STEM classes, especially pre-health be ready for the intro classes to be very competitive with limited space.

The professors and academics are great, truly. It's not super diverse, no matter what the school tries to tell you. The local area is actually pretty limited but there is more within driving distance. Same parties every weekend, and there's nothing to do unless you wanna drink or do crafts (MOB is a godsend, we would have a lot less to do without them). Food isn't great. Dorms are decent size but the maintenance is crap, lots of issues that never get addressed. Parking could be worse.
