Dick Clark does his unpacking chores as he prepares for a huge show at the Municipal Auditorium on Aug. 4, 1963. Clark will emcee a 15-act, two-and-a-half hour rock and roll show before 10,000. After more than 10 years as a disc jockey, Clark made his singing debut at the show when he was called on to sing the male part of the song, \"Hey, Paula,\" as recorded by the girl-boy duo, Paul and Paula. Clark said Ray Hildebrand, \"Paul,\" of the team was unable to make the show.
Dick Clark, who made his fortune in rock and roll but has a list of country music credentials too, makes the keynote speech to an audience of over 600 during the 13th annual Country Radio Seminar at the Opryland Hotel Feb. 26, 1982. Clark predicted a solid future for country music and announced his own country radio network debuting June. 1.
