Editorial Reviews

Real music is hard to find. If you've ever felt suffocated in the age of fakery and hype, then Savoy Brown s latest album The Devil To Pay is a blast furnace / breath of fresh air. Driven by classic blues and age-old human truths but dragged into contemporary relevance by stinging musicianship and modern savvy "legendary guitar player" Kim Simmonds new songs have arrived when we need them most. In many ways, considers this the best album I've ever done. It s fresh and new, and belongs to the twenty-first century.

Kim, step away from the mic, you're not as a singer, stick to guitar, sincerely a Jumpin' Joe Whiting-Voodoo Moon Fan
Kim = great guitarist, amatuer vocalist at best. Live From the Road & Voodoo Moon were the best Savoy Brown albums since the Dave Walker era. Why you ask? Because he hired a kick-ass front man, CNY Legend and I mean Legend "Jumpin" Joe Whiting" on Sax & vocals. Check out Joe's work with Mark Doyle, Jukin Bone and Free Will. A true blues rock front man. Kim's ego get's in the way every freaking record. He treats sidemen as disposable. Check out Wiki, they don't even list all the truly talented musicians he's worked with once and then got rid of, there gas to be 300+ who thought they were signing on to build their own legacy only to have their dreams crushed by your doucheness. Kim, your singing is painful in the Kanye sense of painful. Get an autotune or get Dave Walker or Joe Whiting back. Push your ego that's larger than your talent aside and become great again. Chris Youlden, Lonesome Dave, Dave Walker, Miller Anderson, Stan Webb & Joe Whiting are why you are today. There's too many talented blues guitarists as talented as you or better and would give a nut to get the opportunity you've been given. You are stuck playing clubs now play in front of 250-300 that are usual gone before the end. I know, I saw you a few weeks back. Sorry to be so critical but you are a douche who's wasting a god given talent. Let's just start with Pete Mendillo drums, Lou Kaplan, Bass & cool cat Jimmy Dagnese, bass, Joe Whiting, vocals, sax, Stan Webb, guitar-vocals (folks go listen to My loves lying down) from Boogie Bros) then 300 more let down by you. Maybe you've been bitter since Lonesome Dave and the rest left to form Foghat and toured the world as a far superior band once they gain control of the music they knew fans would respond to. Either way if I see you're singing I pass...
