    Peter John Denyer (20 August 1947 in Dartford – 18 September 2009 in Cheltenham) was an English actor who was perhaps best remembered for playing Dennis Dunstable in London Weekend Television's Please Sir!, and its spin-off series The Fenn Street Gang, taking on the role of a teenager when already into his 20s. He also appeared in the film versions of Please Sir! (1971) and Never Mind the Quality, Feel the Width (1973), and the glam rock film Never Too Young to Rock (1975).Another semi-regular role, again for LWT, was as one half of a gay couple in Agony. He also appeared in Dixon of Dock Green, Moody and Pegg, Dear John and the TV soap opera Emmerdale Farm. Later in his career he moved into producing, directing and writing pantomime.Denyer, who was unmarried, died in September 2009 in Cheltenham, aged 62.

    Noel Howlett (22 December 1902 – 26 October 1984) was an English actor, principally remembered as the incompetent headmaster, Morris Cromwell, in the ITV 1970s cult television programme Please Sir!. He was the subject of infatuation by Deputy Head Doris Ewell, played by Joan Sanderson.Howlett was born in Maidstone, Kent, and began his career as Richard Greatham in Noël Coward's Hay Fever. At Northampton Repertory Theatre in 1930 he played Sherlock Holmes. He also appeared as Mr Williams in the 1948 film The Winslow Boy, starring Robert Donat. At Stratford-on-Avon in 1953, he played Old Gobbo (father to Donald Pleasence's Launcelot Gobbo) in The Merchant of Venice, Edward IV (brother to Marius Goring's Richard III), Baptista in The Taming of the Shrew and Gloucester in King Lear.An early TV role was portraying a vicar in the 1958/59 BBC series Quatermass and the Pit. He appeared as Professor Rushton in a one-off 1967 edition ("Mission Highly Improbable") of The Avengers and as the Reverend Simon Blanding in a one-off 1967 edition ("Dead Man's Shoes") of Man in a Suitcase. Other screen appearances include the 1960s TV shows Softly, Softly and Danger Man. He also appeared in one 1976 episode ("I Talk to the Trees") of the BBC situation comedy The Good Life as slightly eccentric allotment gardener Mr Wakeley.He also frequently broadcast and did a spell for the BBC as a member of their Drama Repertory Company (now the Radio Drama Company), one of his appearances being as Inspector Walter Neider in the 1965 Paul Temple radio episode, "Paul Temple and the Geneva Mystery".

    Elisabeth Anne "Liz" Gebhardt (12 April 1945 – 10 August 1996) was an English actress, best known for playing the part of form 5C pupil Maureen Bullock in the LWT sitcom Please Sir! (1968–71) and in the subsequent spin-off show, The Fenn Street Gang (1971–73). Following on from her role in the show and its spin-off, she continued working in television, starring as Doreen Bissel in Dear Mother...Love Albert, and appearing in a number of supporting roles in programmes such as New Scotland Yard, Z-Cars, The Naked Civil Servant, Doctor on the Go, Grange Hill, The Bill, Love Hurts, Keeping Up Appearances and others. Her few film roles included the movie version of Please Sir! (1971), and a brief appearance as a maid in Julius Caesar (1970). In her earlier years, Liz attended Willesden County Grammar School in North-West London

    Richard Warwick (29 April 1945 – 16 December 1997) was an English actor.He was born Richard Carey Winter, the third of four sons, at Meopham, Kent, and made his film debut in Franco Zeffirelli's 1968 production of Romeo and Juliet in the role of Gregory. Subsequent films included If...., Nicholas and Alexandra and the first film by Derek Jarman, Sebastiane. On television, he was best known for his roles in the sitcom Please Sir!, as one of the main character's teaching colleagues, and in the London Weekend Television comedy A Fine Romance, as the brother-in-law of Judi Dench's character. He also played Uncas in the television series The Last of the Mohicans (1971). His last role before his AIDS-related death was as John (the servant) in Zeffirelli's 1996 adaptation of Jane Eyre. He died in 1997 aged 52. In an obituary, The Daily Telegraph quoted If... director Lindsay Anderson: "I never met a young actor like Richard! Without a touch of vanity, completely natural yet always concentrated, he illumines every frame of the film in which he appears."
