First photos of Derek Chauvin released since prison sentencing

The first photos of Derek Chauvin since his sentencing for second-degree unintentional murder were released Saturday.

The mug, showing the former Minneapolis cop scowling in an orange jumpsuit, was first obtained and published by TMZ.

In April, Chauvin was sentenced to 22 1/2 years for his role in the death of George Floyd. The case went megaviral after a nine-minute video showed Chauvin kneeling on Floyd’s neck.

Floyd’s death sparked waves of violent rioting and looting in cities across the country which have persisted on and off for more than a year.
